Thinking of returning - what will Tyrannis give a solo player?

captjohneastcaptjohneast Member Posts: 1

Hi All,

I am thinking of re-acitivating my account, been on and off since May '03 and was wondering if the new update will allow a casual solo player to do anything new or is it just for the upper echelons of corps?

Cheers,

John

Agreed, expansion is geared at making 0.0 living more interesting, which normally solo players steer clear of.

You could build anything in empire if you wanted to, the only difference is the resources from planets in empire space are much lower than in nullsec... Just like everything else right :)

Always baffles me why people pay 15 dollars a month to play an MMORPG solo.

    Makes absolutely no sense.

You can mess around with Planetary interation solo. It wont be as lucritive as Null sec (and it shouldnt be) but its still kinda fun to play around with.

People like to see other people (not npc's) running around inside the game they are playing, it gives the game some personality, some life, after a couple of quests they may chat for awhile, if a boss is to hard they may group, but if they are like me a group isnt always desireable because you have to follow along with the group dynamics.  same reason why people dont get married, like to date-yes , do I what to live with that person or any person THE REST OF MY LIFE nope

Alright. Still just seems completely counter intuitive to playing an MMO, but I see your point.

No need for me to hijack the thread. Apologies

No more so than it ever did. Missions in high sec were and are solo content. PI in high sec will be as well. The way I understand it, PI wont be one player per planet. You will be able to put only one colony in place but 200 people could have a colony on Amarr Planet 5 as an example if they wanted. It will be done by you and will evolve but if you are without MMO at this time and are looing for something to kill spare time, sub up and find out.

    er.. actually yes!

Arguably Tyrannis is the first expansion which deals exlusivly with solo players.

Since there is no space combat involved what so ever, casual soloer's can easily afford the risk of going into low sec and even NPC 0.0 space

If your a solo player then your gona love PI !

As usual they are saying this x pack has more content for the solo-player...but like usual it depends on what you consider more content...which basically means u need a grp like always.

well after playing a shitload of EVE I can def. say that not everyone can spend 2+ hours TRAVELING then 1 hour getting things organzied then 1 hour WAITING then a couple hours of crazy epic awesome combat....this is the only game that beats WoW when it comes to time sink for the fun content....which EVE certainly has some epic content if your willing to be patient.

    EVE is pretty much group-orientated.

You can colonise and produce on planets solo (Planetary Interaction is the main feature of Tyrannis), you don't need a corp or anything like that.

Exploring is always alot of fun to me.  I too may also start back up again, but with a fresh account this time.  Honestly though, if you do enjoy soloing, this game might not be for you.  There are alot of douchebags in the game, but ehre are just as many helpful people too.  So, I would suggest finding a corp. and just pkay with people in your corp. and run missions.  You can play casually and still become powerful, just in a longer amount of time :) best of luck to you if you join man

Eve may be group focused it offers enough to satisfy the casual soloer.

Missions, mining, trading, High sec PI, High & low sec explorations (combat, hack, arch sites), Faction warfare, RvB, Class 1-3 wormholes.

I could go on and on.

You could have a very enjoyable experience in Eve as a casual solo player.

Also remember even though a player may enjoy to play solo doesnt mean he/she doesnt enjoy having other players sharing the same universe.

Because people like yourself make for entertaining NPC's while us soloers are playing.
