Alright, this is for the people in beta what is so good about MXO? Is it anything like City of heroes because at the start is awesome and later on it just got boring due to barely any events and such..
Does it have the great customization that COH has..so you don't look like anyone else.
what makes it more enjoyable then the other two recent mmo that have just come out a bit ago.Wow.EQ2
that's all for now...i like getting a players point of view ...not the website kinda bias ;p

Sneak Preview is up now on Fileplanet, ends tomorrow night, try it yourself
Sygmas, I am counting on you personally to tell me how MxO is at its release since you seem like the most unbiased person on the MxO board.

WTF? How do I work for the development of the game?
And im guessing you're being sarcastic about that :P
Since you brought up the comparison to COH..allow me to elaborate since i played COH for 3 months and Matrix beta for 1 month...
Character Creation - COH is simply the best around. Not a put-down to Matrix or anything, COH has the best character creation of any mmorpg ever. I think even the most biased peeps would agree to that. Winner - COH
Combat - Both let you jump right into the mix and fight. However matrix's interlock system takes some getting used to and frankly is lacking. COH allows one to fight multiple mobs all at once. Matrix makes you take on one at a time. Matrix animations are better though. Winner - tie
Interface - No contest here, COH wins hands down. Even the most hardcore matrix fanboy wil admit Matrix's interface is terrible. Clunky and lacks customiazation (that block covering toon's legs was so annoying). Coh was comfortable like an old pair of shoes. Winner - COH
Graphics - Pretty similiar layout so easy to make direct comparison here. COH is different in most zones. From broken down ruins to places where the park is the center of action. Matrix to be honest I didnt get to explore of all it. The parts I saw all looked the same, not sure if that was the case for all of it. Matrix does allow you to explre inside of buildings, not just enter the instanced missions like in COH. However, once you've been inside one building you've seen them all. Animations for character movement flow and fit nicely in COH. Flying or jumping seem flawlessly realistic. In Matrix, even simple movements like walking are clunky. My toon looked like a duck waddling. Cars bump into you in matrix and force toon to auto jump. Matrix just lacked too few details and animations were pretty bad (reminded me of a PS1 game). Winner - COH
Overall - Ultimately both lack real end game things to do. Its about the storyline apparently for both game. I found CoH to be in the end just more fun. Its also a lot more stable than matrix. CoH had such a smooth launch and most bugs were gone. Not the case with Matrix where half the missions beed to be attempted 4 or 5 times before they get done. CoV expansion coming along with more steady game and overall superior in other apsects...no contest Winner - CoH

I dont know, I never grouped with anyone for combat. Only time I ever saw any peeps online was near the phonebooth where you log in or out.
Its sorta like CoH in that you can find mobs on street corners. They even have similiar group like CoH, usually 2 regular mobs and a LT behind them.
With CoH you could walk up and throw down an AoE attack or a lockdown move like tenerbrous tentacles to hold the whole gang while you worked on one at a time. Doesnt work like that in Matrix. I would attack one gang member and finish him off. The other mobs wouldnt even attack me after I hit their buddy (dont know if that was a bug or intentional). I found that pretty dumb. I killed their comrade and could just stand there and regen health and then attack the next one and so on.
The interlock graphic animations are straight out of the movies and neat to watch. However it gets old really fast and is kinda frustrating.
Matrix did one thing for me, it made me appareciate previous mmorpgs like CoH. Its just not a very good game and its design makes me think it cant improve.
After playing both CoH and MxO for over a month i can say one thing and be talking about both games:
These games are both super fun for the first week or so u play them...i mean REALLY fun. but after u realize the missions are all <go here, kill this or get this and get out> and uve done about 100 of them it starts to wear on u.
I would say CoH is the better game atm, and with CoV putting in PvP in the near future, i dont see what the point in playing MxO will be.
I am obsessed with the Matrix movies...and even that only made me like MxO for about 2 weeks.

*scratches head* Block? What block? You mean that blue box that was stuck there for a day or two while they were inbetween patches? Long since gone... There's a compass down there that can be minimized but it doesn't cover the character's legs.
Looked the same but you didn't get to explore all of it? Jeez, did you just stay in the same neighborhood? The architecture varies between neighborhoods and varies even more so between districts. The international district is, by far, the most diverse. And for even greater diversity, check out the contructs. There's a lot to see in this game.
I've never had a great deal of problems with missions. Throughout the beta there were various missions that were bugged from time to time but they would get cleared up. I can't remember the last time I had a buggy mission... a month ago?
Regardless if they're bugged or not, the missions are still pretty boring. And variations of the same brown/dark green buildings is still drab and boring. Haven't seen the constructs so I can't say much about that but there's hardly anything interesting to look at while running around.
have you ever tried LEVELING up? just curious. downtown looks different, slums look different and international district looks different.
Its like going through WoW and saying " elwyn (sp?) looks all the same with the same buildings and same tree models and same grass and same cows." of course it looks the same. ITS THE SAME ZONE. jeez. westfall looks different, darkshire looks different. you gotta level up to play the real game. and it SNOWS in the constructs. SNOWS. ive also heard theres a desert one. dont know about the higher level ones. only got to 24 and got to go to downtown since +ct clothing.
Actually, from my experience, everything boiled down to looking the same. Once you see one building you have seen them all in MxO. Well actually I can think of about 4 different types, but thats it, in my entire time in MxO from level 1 to 25 I saw the same stuff over and over again. What I will give MxO is that the fight scenes are simply beautiful to watch, but thats all its got going for it in my opinion. What can you expect though, its the Matrix, and thus all you can expect are cool looking fights and a cityscape setting. I'm going to wait a while before I invest in MxO, its a slightly enjoyable experience that is squashed on by its repetetiveness, and bugs. I can't believe how many bugs there were in the final week of the test, which was supposed to just be a stress test! Also, I've heard things about admins favoring clans, and I saw this in WoW, and it personally made me sick to my stomach.
The zones in WoW at least looked pretty nice for the most part (can't say much for the Barrens because it's pretty, er...barren). In MxO, everything is just so drab and boring. There's no structures that you really look at and go 'whoa that's neat!'.
Wow, snow, that'll turn any crappy game into a good one.

I was just pointing out there were many different places, including one with snow. But did any of you ever explore? you never looked for monuments? you never looked for buildings from the movies? i know the building where neo works is in the game. Just because the missions dont take you there doesnt mean they dont exist. you just have to look around to see the interesting stuff.
you musta lived in a closet, man, if you think all of MxO looked alike.
