It sounds interesting, but i just watched the video on their site and holy over the top effects batman! When it said martial arts i hadn't expected the attacks to be like looking at a rainbow through a kaleidoscope.
Same here, the game sounded interesting and the features promising... then I watch the weapons trailer and decided not to bother with it anymore.

Ditto. I outgrew the Asian penchant for PEW BANG BASH WOAH! animations when I hit puberty. You can't hide a lack of substance with an overabundance of style.

To use the key:
1. Go to www.perfectworld.com
2. Login using your Perfect World Entertainment username and password.
3. Click on the "My Account" link.
4. Click on "Redeem Beta Keys".
5. Enter your closed beta key.
HAHAHAHAHAHA.. Perfect World comes up with another grind game. Nothing here. Moving on.
This is the high fantasy version of the Three Kingdoms storyline. With over the top rainbow glows and such this is a very showy game...
If you are looking for the low fantasy version of the Three Kingdoms storyline, you should try Kingdom Heros. It doesnt have the over the top effects, but it does have more complex gameplay.
They are two different games... and it depends on whether you are looking for glitz or gameplay.

Thanks for the info and the link, I had no idea this game was in development. I'm a sucker for anything Three Kingdoms but what I'm witnessing from PW is way over the top for me. Signing up for the beta now.

Lots of pretty lights but same old same old. Wasn't impressed with the battle one if that was indeed a battle either. /yawn

Does look like the battles are different. Still the showy lights. Don't get me wrong a bit of light show can be okay. I like many of Aeria Games. Much better look though than PW one.

Unfortunately all these "OMG, how I love this Three Kingdoms, omg omg" of yours they are not gonna be justified. HoPF is not gonna be any different than other PF games. As usually Item Mall and a lot of grind. I've played Jade Dynasty quite a bit and spent a bit of money in there. HoPF will be just another JD just in Three Kingdoms environment. I am going to check it out, just for architecture and design. I am already not liking HoPF too much becouse its based on on their old engine.
Its like some companies make a lot of web sites leading to the some product. Same does PF and other Asian developers. They create 4-5 games on the same engine with a bit different story lines (if it exists at all in games) to attract more people to spend their money. I wish they at least upgraded the engine. All these flashy, colorful skills, have seen this already in jade Dynasty, no need to make so many exactly the same games.
Jade Dynasty was made a lot similar to Perfect World, not HoPF is gonna be made very similar to JD. Well I am glad your'all are so excited. Unfortunately I am not. I love asian culture, I love their canons, stories, Jade Dynasty has a lot fo great stories and the whole skill system is actually based on some nice feedbacks, like skills related to expressing of your feelings etc. But the way they make these games like rabbits make babies is just prove that their games are usually very low quality, especially keeping in mind that games need to be translated and converted to western market standards.
I wish all these asian devs have become more professionals and make one game in a few years but a really good game instead of making multiple copies and clones developed on same engine with just a different wrapping.
Which is better Kingdom Heroes or Heroes of Three Kingdoms?
Cause I am a huge fan of the Dynasty Warrior series, Samurai Warriors series and Romance of the Three Kingdom series, I even tried playing the Gundam version of Dynasty Warriors which was a fair game to play. I am addicted to these game and unlike those shiny-over-the-top-super-grind-melt-your-mind-games this game is a refreshing start for my MMO agenda. But I need some professional advice (as if) from people who thought about these two games, which is better? I have seen the trailers and it's not fair to just judge them by the trailer alone so I am asking those people who have the time to play the game.
