eve gate and a tin foil hat

i bet most of you know the "problem" whit the default settings for eve gate -if you have 2 players A&B like friends they can see each other from your profile on eve gate the only problem is if they are enemy's u got a problem, also can be a problem if u get alts/spy chars on friend list and other check your eve gate profile-

the solution to this is simple you need to "fix" your contacts before the patch soo ppl who will run eve gate crawlers wont get your alts/spy, and this point me to the tin foil hat: why CCP do this ? why dont set all privacy thing by default and dont allow things like this to happen?

in order to "fix" your accounts you need to pay them and if u have few alt/spy accounts that are closed because that alt/spy are no needed on the moment or you just set them like inactive for that organization, so i need to pay the accounts so i can "fix" this and CCP get nice a awesome boost on subscriptions for the expansion time frame and make some chest beating later

    CCP Did address this as a reply in someones thread.

     

    Apparently crawling eve-gate is not possible.

    Did they not adress this on the beta version of EVE gate?

    I know that I at first could see the contacts om my friends but at a later date I could not.

    Will this (default?)setting not be transfered to the live version?

    I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.

    u say that and CCP dint even manage to set the damn SSL cert well for eve gate website

    You didn't read CCP's reply properly.  Crawling spacebook is not permitted.  Of course it is possible. :roll:

    CCP's first attempt at Spacebook allowed everybody to see anybody else's contacts just by looking them up.  After allowing enough time for all interested parties to scrape the entire database, they deleted everybody's contacts for "safety".  So all of the subsequent beta-testing had people with no contacts so you couldn't look them up.

    So no, the live version has your contacts and anybody that you have set to +5.01 or higher (and anybody in your corp) can see you entire contact list.

     

    Your contact list has now been changed to include anything that you have ever set a standing too.  Some guy in your corp got drunk one night and you set him to -1 to remind you that he's a bit of a jerk?  Well, he's now in your contact list as a foe (-5) and if he's still in your corp he can see that - until you reset your privacy settings.

    CCP really screwed the pooch on this expansion. It seems to be a recurring thing.

     

    OMFG RELEASE BLACK PROPHECY OR JUMPGATE!!! MUST GIVE FINGER TO CCP!
