I recently picked this up and decided to play it, when I got it installed on my laptop and all, I tired to update it and I get this error message saying it can't move this file.
C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIlp_tempassetdb.dll_delta_8942_1.patched to C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIassetdb.dll.
Can anyone help me out here?

Hey. I dont know and not trying to deflect, but if you have subscribed and/or have a trial account, the EQ2 forums should be chock of systems help info, and you'll probably get a more immediate response there.
Im on a subscription. And Im posting here and on EQII forums, hoping to get help as soon as I can :P

Already tried the suggested fixes listed on that post. Still nothing.
Some people simply lack the patience or the mental capacity to find solutions themselves. Thats why they make posts so that good people like yourself will do the work for them. Those same people make posts like "Should I play game x or y" as they need others to do the simple decision making for them. Clicking on links is hard work ya know
Or you could, ya know, not be a complete tool like that? I already said Id already tried that, so try not to start crap with strangers for fun? K? K

Where they pay YOU to deal with tech issues and questions so that others dont have to?
I worked tech support for comcast for six months. NEVER AGAIN. You couldn't pay me enough to take those calls from their stupid customers, or any others ever again.
You never realize how truly stupid people are until you start working tech support and start having them scream at you for 45 minutes because your passwords are 8 digits and most others are 6 digits. THAT one nearly made me quit, I was crying so hard. The bosses took me off support for an hour and a half so I could stop crying and shaking. I nearly quit on the spot and the bosses knew it. Heck, I even tried getting a supervisor to deal with it but the sup didn't get to me before the person hung up.
The reason I quit, despite the high wage, the incredibly good bonuses and all the rest, is because I started having horrific nightmares of being physically tortured every time I went in to work. Things like body parts exploding, being shot, having knive carve rivlets up my body. And I dreamed I wasn't the only one, my coworkers were there too.
And then there was the one where I got blamed because some moron dropped soda on their modem and decided to fill the bathroom sink with water and dunk it in the water, then plug it back in. And the one where the woman's son's used their modem as a football and flipped out because we were going to charge her for a new one. And thats just the start.
Tech support is the worst possible job on the planet.
I can tell that you never had a job like that in your life before. Just because they pay you that doesn't excuse the stupidity on the users end, no matter how much you make.

Oh I've done tech support before for about a year. It was horrible.......but for a billion dollars an hour? I would only have to do it for a little while and then I would be very very rich.

No yeah, people are much "smarter" about their finances and their money.
Assuming that and IT guy is the only profession where you deal with idiots all day long is crazy. Also they are not idiots, they are people whos job it ISNT to deal with their own tech issues. This is why they pay you.
Dont like helping others who dont care about what you do, only that you get the job done for them???? I suggest getting a job as a trustfund baby or living off mom your rest of you life.

You actually call the woman who put her modem into a sink full of water and then plugged it back in "not an idiot". What are you smoking exactly? Anyone with a brain knows that you don't dump anything electronic into a sink full of water. And you don't bunt a modem around like a football either and then get mad at the tech when the tech tells you that you owe them $100 for a new modem when YOUR KIDS are the ones that destroyed the old one.

This isn't about IT people being divas, its about other people being idiots. You don't drop your cell phone in the dish water and think its going to work after. And you don't go outside and start cutting wires without knowing which wire belongs to what and then get mad at the tech that comes to fix it because it wasn't labelled when you shouldn't have been up on the pole in the first place cutting wires when you didn't know what they belong to. And you don't start screaming at the tech at the top of your lungs so badly that you make the tech cry because the techs company has a standard 8 digit password and most other places have a standard 6 digit password to access email.
There are certain things you do, and certain things you don't do. Behaving like I've seen people behave toward IT people is childish and despicable.
IT is NOT easy. You don't just "its fixed or you need a new one". Nothing is ever that simple. Especially when you're getting screamed at because the field tech is late because there was a blowout in the area and he was a little busy fixing the problem instead of getting you your new modem on time because you didn't feel like coming to the store to pick it up.
This post just proves that you know absolutely nothing about the industry and I really don't care enough to explain it to you. Let's just leave it at that.
