New- Wanting to get into a game

Hello, I am super-new here, so this is basically my introduction post.

I have not played  a community game for 4-5 years, but I'd like to get involved again. Although I'd like help & links for the suggestions. The last game I played obsessivly was Maple Story, and I spent almost four hours+ daily. And there was another that was more like WoW but kinda dark; I forget the name though.

I'd like creating a character and joining a guild (mostly to make friends & have objectives), but I have no mic yet. =/

Anyone?
