Aion servers are up, and version 1.9 is now live, following an extended maintenance period beginning at 4:30AM PDT this morning. For those of you rushing off into Atreia to check out all the new goodies, you might want to take a detour first and check out the hilarious 1.9 intro video put out by NCsoft today.
NCsoft and the folks at Rooster Teeth have produced a new "Goin' Legit" 1.9 introduction video, which features Papa Lou and his Power Leveling Service mobsters, who are down on hard times due to all the new quests that have been added to expedite the leveling process in the 1.9 update. As a result, Lou and Co. barge into the room of their former victim, a child named Dylan, to make amends for busting up his room, and request to join Dylan on their next quest since they "lost" their last DPS class, likely due to ninja looting.
The video is full of all sorts of mobster/gangster movie references, amusing dialogue, and an interesting twist near the end that is sure to earn at least a few chuckles.

Dylan the man..lol.
Will be seeing how 1.9 does later today.
Brilliant 1.9 FTW.
So funny lol.. last part was the best! xD
I really wish they would just make it F2P and add the cash shop so the game can be put out of it's misery.
ya just like D&D online did..
wait.. what?
The ending was definitely the best part. Very happy with the changes they're making in 1.9 - it addresses a lot of the complains people have, and should pave the way for a smoother experience overall.
Love how the patch has lots of things teasing us for 2.0, like, the NPC in Marchutan Temple (Asmodae) saying Marchutan is away, already fighting against Tiamat in Balaurea, also that red portal that appeared on each capital city teases us even more.
too little too late for most folks. They have left this game ages ago and aren't inclined to return .
Wow, I don't know what good braces are going to do on those chompers. Austin Powers would take one look at that kid and be all like; "Damn! I thought my teeth were bad."
I must say after playing for a couple hours last night the grind seemed to be a bit less tedious. sure its not complete 1 quest = level up, but quest offer a lot better exp at least from what i remember.
with this patch and 2.0 coming out this game should be one of the best out there.
I was able to get logged in last night and snag a few of the new quests before going to bed. Liked what I saw. Some performance tweeks too it seems like, I don't lag as much after teleporting into a city, and that was with everybody and their brother on checking out 1.9. If they keep up with their track record, this weekend should be double XP too, looking forward to that.
