A typical question for a new game on the horizon
You may also discuss what abilities should the races have (we know some already) or whatever else:))
I think I actually spent way more time reading and theorycrafting about MMOs than playing them

Actually all the races sound really good.
But Norn , giants that transform into animals , are especially cool
Voted Asura, def the coolest lore and looks in GWI. I'm not as pleased with their look in GWII but I'll wait for more screenies before drawing conclussions.
I voted Charr. Dunno why but their lore reminds me of the turians in the Mass Effect universe.
I dunno why but they remind me of the doll jackie:-D they look kinda creepy but cool also:))

Charr
Why? Cause they're just badass.
Charr are definately one of the most aesthetically and cuturally appealing races to me. I mean miltaristic, cunning and practical all mixed in with race that's one of the main antagonists to the humans as well as being far more technologically advanced.
That's a rare thing to see in fantasy there usually brutish and dumb like orcs or rely very heavily on magic. The industrialized Charr seem almost refreshing.
Gotta love the parallels between the Charr and the Asura and the Romans and the Greeks.
I'm a Norn fan, they're just like a better version of humans - bigger, stronger, and they can transform into bears!
sorry for double post
Norn all the way, werebear ftw
I bet all races have pretty cool things, as races will be different and serve like a kind of 2nd class
I will play a Sylvari, for their support potential.
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
Asura win hands down, geniuses stuck in a world of imbiciles! lol
Oddly enough it's a toss up between the Asura and the Norn for me.
Human followed by Charr and then the Sylavari.
I usually vote Charr in these but I will play whichever is the least popular. According to this poll, I'd be playing Asura.
EDIT: I will never ever make a male Sylvari character...
I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been -Wayne Gretzky
Heh...
Anyways, I voted Norn. I'm a fan of Northmen, and the ability to shapeshift is just icing on the cake.
Charrrrrazard
I figured that charr would have the most votes.
I voted Asura, I love the little people
Charrrrrrr! They have boomsticks!
And the guy from the trailer had a cool voice
I've been uplinked and downloaded, I've been inputted and outsourced. I know the upside of downsizing, I know the downside of upgrading.
I'm a high-tech low-life. A cutting-edge, state-of-the-art, bi-coastal multi-tasker, and I can give you a gigabyte in a nanosecond.
I'm new-wave, but I'm old-school; and my inner child is outward-bound.
I'm a hot-wired, heat-seeking, warm-hearted cool customer; voice-activated and bio-degradable.
RIP George Carlin.
THe sylvari are to mysterious to pass up!
Asura all the way!
"If all you can say is... "It's awful, it's not innovative, it's ugly, it's blah.." Then you're an unimaginative and unpolished excuse for human life" -eburn
This may seem kind of weird but my first char is going to be a human.
Once I heard that they get skills like "The Hounds of Balthazaar", that got me.
Human Assassin (hopefully there's an assassin)=ftw
"Some people feel the rain. Others just get wet." -Bob Marley
I'm probably one of those people who just get wet.
Asuran all the way, although those shapeshifting Norn do sound tempting. I think I'll play all the races.
Gotta go with a human, descendant from my GW1 character of course
Based on the races trailer, I'd say I have a bone to pick with just about all of them.
However, I'd go with Humans for my favorite, just because they seem like the least pompous among the races - which is what appeals more to me.
I would have otherwise gone with Asura because of their emphasis on intelligence, but it seems like they went with the classic fantasy stereotype that all highly intelligent beings have to have napolean complexes and be completely out of touch with reality. They are more likely to misuse the intellect they have.
I guess for me it's going to come down to me playing a highly intelligent and logical human or a very down-to-earth Asura, both uncharacteristic of their respective races...
...and the human would be more fun to customize, so that's probably the way I'm going.
Asura.
First time I've ever wanted to play a midget race. They're just -that- awesome.
Thank you, vekk. And thank you for being voiced by one of the most iconic voice actors in the history of ever.
