Craft yourself a waste of time...
Bah! wifey persuaded me to try again after the patch, Took up armouring to try and deepen the interest, fed up grinding. Found that crafting is an even bigger grind to produce stuff thats inferior to the armour you can loot / or get as quest reward. Is there a point to crafting... or another time sink, or have I chosen the wrong profession?

sure the crafted items stink untill you get to expert/balic. but still they can sell for pretty good amount of kinah. pretty much all crafts are time sink since it does take some time to level it.
You get some xp for it though, can hoard up mats and que up and go afk
