Wondering whether or not joining, some questions!

Hi, I'm wondering about to join in DAoC, but I haven't played this game on official servers, just on a private one, which was classic, and I liked it a lot, but before starting a subscription, I'd like to know some things:
- Does the change from trial to retail account charge you also the buying of the game, or is it like WAR?
- Many expansions have been released, but, is it actually needed to go to zones of previous expansions like ToA to get equipment or any other kind of stuff?
- According to MMOData, DAoC doesn't have more than 30k subscriptions so it makes me doubt if it can be shut down soon, as for example, Tabula Rasa, which had more subscriptions than this one, was shut down. So is it very possible at this moment, because I'd not like to start a subscription and see the game shuts down next year.
- What's the best server to start to play if I live in Europe, and if it's full of players.

all you have to do is just sub it comes with everything! so no worrys lol.
daoc will never die to be honest. its just one of those games that will be here for a very long time. the game has alot of people since all servers are merged. and the us and euro servers are all together, so really you will have no problem finding people. i would go with ywain 1. and depends on what realm you like also. i find that there is more mids then hibs. really the fights are between mid and alb most of the time. hib just is kind of random lol. but we still love them haha.
