A Few things that might keep me from buying the game

Hi, I been playing this for 2 days now and I so far am enjoying it. My first day playing I played for 9hrs strait, it was a blast of fun but my issues arise when I felt that the game was to easy. In those 9hrs of playing I got to lvl 32, I am now lvl 43 just after 2 days of PLAYING!!! I know its beta but come on, its not going to change that dramaticly at release.
The issue of the game becoming boring over short duration, but best FUN in years I have had playing any MMO in the first couple of days. With this said, how can this game prove to be a challenge to keep the hardcore gamers playing if the leveling and gameplay of the game go by to fast? I got bored today playing, it seems its nothing but a hack and slash game but some nice armor characteristics.
Humans and Akkans both get different areas of the body to cover with armor. Why would you make a classical RPG and then not fully make it so you can have fully armored characters? I mean come on, it makes no sense. I think it would been more immersive if you offered evry armor piece to wear for both, such as Breast plate or chest, feet, legs, hands, head, shoulders, arms. Thats more realistic if you ask me.
Gunners? Yes gunners in this game of a classical RPG thats great but I lost immersion of the game as soon as I seen this, some odd race with GUNS shooting!! How strange if you ask me, its not a shooter game so why have gun weapons? If you got guns then the whole game should have grenades and bombs and cannons, and humans should have pistols? I mean come on you obviously have gunners so who makes there gunpowder for the bullets?
PVP, unfair and unballanced. Some classes through skill can root a person 10 lvls higher for long duration and it will hold. Hmm not to fun if you ask me, other then that its pretty much a run dodge system you either play it safe and hit run or fight out all way through and heal up.
LAG is bad sometimes. While playing I got lots of lag that killed me while fighting several times. While im on a T3 connection at more then 10mb sec download speed, ($185) month with service for my business, I get the felling that the monsters have no server lag because when you try to heal and lag is there it wont heal for 2seconds later and you are already dead at the time it heals you, so it shows me that the monsters continue to hit you through lag so its got to be a server issue or something. I get off playing RYL and log onto another MMO with no lag at all and my pings are normal. Clueless here, my system is high end so it cant be my side.
Name policy. This game has no naming policy in effect that I can tell. You see so many kids running around with just horrible names such as Roxxors_You, Pimpingya, G_Unit, and countless other hip hop names of the other culture that I pay no attention to there music, I hate RAP. The naming policy sucks it shows that anyone can take names even from current Trademarked names and use them! This totaly blows immersion even further away from the game.
Equipment or level of others. You can't see the level of current players who you want to duel or to see there equipment to see if they could use anything you may want to give away. Would be nice to see the level of another player by clicking them and see what weapon they are holding to see how you might fair with a duel or if they are good enough for a group.
Market is flooded with goods, in Beta and my 2days playing this being my 3rd but I havn't loged in today, it seems that the items in the game drop to fast of a rate and so far in my 2days playing I have gained 4million gold. About 2mill just fighting and selling to vendors, other 2mill from selling to others. The market will be weak after a few months after release if this isn't fixed.
Crafting new armor or crafting at all. The game is missing crafting, you can't do squat. Why is it you can modify armor at only lvl 40 with gems and such? At least thats what I was told when I first started to play so I tryed this at lvl 40 and it worked but im not sure if it was because I was 40 now and it is only lvl 40 can do it or I could do it any lvl?
Abusive GM policy. GM's countless times have told other people in out of charcter to stop using other languages. This greatly puts a damper on things when you tell someone they can't even speak there own language to other people that speak the same language, and there going to be paying for this crap!!! I don't think its right to say shut up to your players because they speak another language, its after all a free speech game isn't it? They discourage other players, and say stuff like I will ban the next people who say another word of this etc. Get a clue, Tyrants don't need to be in a GM position controlling a community in an MMO.
The game is very inconsistant it just seems they left alot on the table that would have done this game some good but its also like they just threw in stuff to make a MMO idea pile and implemented them not thinking how they could ruin a MMO game. I don't know about playing and paying for a release of this game. I am confused on many aspects of this game and its not anything near as mature as current MMO's that are out. Small percentage of me wants to play it again after release just to pass time because I like the fighting in game thats good and the community is fairly nice, but all the other stuff I can't deal with its to horrid.
Such a long list of other stuff that the game lacks that I can go on about but I won't waste anymore my time typing them down, thanks for listening and its a fun game at first but disapointing after a short time.

First off I don't think its necessary to Quote an entire page, just say whatever you need to say since you was only the 1st poster on this thread, DUh.
All this is my opinion so if you didn't want to read it then stop at the first line or even better don't post about someone elses opinion on a forum dedicated to rating games and its discussion. Then again I can't blame a half witted twit like you for having the urge to post.
Wow yea thats kind of a rash statement to make saying no GM has ever banned anyone or shouted at them. How would you know? Did you play all those hours I was on for the last 2 days? Did you get tired and perhaps go to sleep and I was on thus I seen this happen and btw its happened numerous times. Maybe you should think before you post next time.
I played the game for 2days and in my opinion its not all that fun. I have explored half the map my last 3hours playing just to see some other content and monsters. Monsters that are the same pretty much with different names. The game is useless to play as a MMO. And yes here again its an opinion and you don't have to put your 2 cents in to adjust for your hazy glare comming from your noggin.
Why do 70% of all RYL forums end or start in This Game Sucks? Well let me let you in on a little secret, this game does suck and if you had any mmorpg experiences then you would know this by comparisons.
Hmm you can't take any hint of sarcasim in one of my paragraphs, so you flamed me for it how original. ta da, shows your quality of examination of words and how you process them. You apparently only see what you want to see.
Again, this is a site and forums dedicated to talking about the current MMO's that are out so its of opinions others have on games here so that other people can determin what might work best for them when they look for a mmorpg to play.
Do yourself a favor and next time try not to think so hard, I can tell your lack of experience makes for a good book reading someday. So grab a book and read it you might find some comfort there. RYL sucks and again its confirmed.
bezado ignore him hes a fan boy. On the RYL fourms the game designers have asked for people to come here and hype the game for them. Why I have no problem with that it does make people with closed minds start freaking out. I agree with some of your comments others I dont nice write up.
I pretty much have to be a GM because every negative attack on any RYL forum gets backed up by how good the game is and how dumb you are for voicing your opinion on a game that really does suck? I'm extremely intolerant of ignorant kids like you bezado and you too bugmen, they wouldn't make me a GM because I'd have you banned by your first post. The GM team is a lot more tolerant.
What's lame about spreading the word about a good game? Nothing. We come here to stop you from spreading your 'opinions' about the game. There's a difference between constructive criticism and opinions. Your opinions are all based on limited experience and unfactual information. You pump up your complaints with lies and other bullshit as if it actually happened. People like me and others from the RYL community use constructive criticism to present problems and possible fixes. It takes no effort to complain, and a lot of effort to constructively criticise.
What's really lame is every single one of your posts. Let's stick to the facts instead of pure speculation and conjecture, shall we?

I've been playing RYL: Path of the Emperor for around a week now, not a bad game, but not great either. I agree with some of the things bezado said. One of the major desiding factors for me was the lack of things to do other than combat in one form or another. Sure, PvP is fun and I enjoy it, even had some fun duels with several players, lost a few won a few, and even watched a good sized guild battle it out with another. The grahpics are nice, and the combat effects are exciting. Still, I found my self eventually getting burned out on killing things, waiting for that next level, and looking for that next piece of C or better Armor and Weapons. Quests were fun, the few that I did. The game really needs more though, lots more. I think for the games purpose, its done well, and I'm sure it will do ok on the market as a Pay to Play game.
I know the beta had exp. and item drops turned up during this period, which is another reason for my discouragement. It's going to be that much more time consuming when the game goes live, and personally, It reminds me to much of eating "Top Ramen" every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sure I love the stuff but I want variaty, and I feel thats one of the most important things RYL is missing, and 90% of the other MMOG's on the market for that matter.
Anyways, If I had to give RYL a rating from 1 - 10, it would have to be a 6. I give them props for style, graphics, sound and combat (PvP included), but its missing a lot of features that would of made it that much more enjoyable to a larger array of players. I recommend RYL to the hard core players, and people that enjoy PvP.
Now.... if only the other people would post constructive critisism like this instead of all out flames at the game, players and pwg staff members.....Im glad that at least one person has the decency to suggest flaws in the game without actually demeaning it's players. btw, SixMM, ive seen other GM's on these forums including Vampire and Darcius.
I agree this game needs a lot of tinkering and fixing but it's a very good base and since it's an mmorpg, it will always change and improve, if pwg/youxiland play their cards right, i can really see ryl becoming a huge success.
SixMM your game is not worth paying for really. come on even diablo had all its equipment slots working.
Well, well, well ... I came here for a review of RYL and instead I got two guys flaming each other. I love a good flame as much as the next guy. Unfortunately, this one sucked! Lun, you're a fanboi, plain and simple. You sound like a fanboi, and if I cut you open, gut you, and then roast you over hot coals with chipotle sauce you'll taste like a fanboi.
Seriously, the dude posted his opinion and you attacked him for it. That's what a fanboi does. You might have thought you were rebutting his conclusions but you weren't because you can't help being a fanboi. Have I said that enough? FANBOI - FANBOI - FANBOI - FANBOI OK, I'm done.
As far as Bezado's opinion is concerned; I can't take it too seriously given his admission of only playing for two days. Granted, he said he has played MOST of those two days, but it's still only two days.
What is most telling is that in this forum there are NO other comments! One premature opinion and one fanboi flame is all the interest this game can generate? Even Warcraft, which I HATE, has thousands of competing opinions/flames. I find it laughable that someone would consider spending their money on a game nobody gives a crap about.

Looks like everyone in here works for a game company... am I right? If so, which ones? Full disclosure?

The only ones who "work" for PWG are the ones who stated it, even then most of them are Volunteer GMs or Guides. SixMM is one of the Inhouse GMs for PWG...
Good post, Bez. Honestly your post saved me the trouble and time of downloading the game to check it out for myself. I'm a hardcore MMORPG'er looking for a new game to settle with. I considered RYL, but not after I read you post. It's obviously not what I'm looking for. (Attractive, compelling, but easy gameplay description also describes WoW and why I dislike it after reaching end game in just over a single month). Just the post I was looking for as I strolled in the RYL just a second ago to see what others thought of the game.
Anyhow, I was reading Lun4tic's posts and laughed. Obviously he couldn't comprehend your disclaiming title, "A Few things that might keep me from buying the game" which simply explains that its your personal feelings upon the game, not some sort of fanboy, suger-coated general description of the game you'd find on their website. No contest.
