I am craving for MMOs, deciding APB or this now... please answer few questions before I made my decision
1.) Hows the game status at launch now?
2.) Can you play in 3rd person view?? or any way to do 3rd person view? ( I like to look at my equipment and armor)
3.) Hows the PvP ?? you can attack people any where and whats the punishment?
4.) Any Housings and Guild system yet ?? Heard they took it off before and fixing it... up now?
5.) If I start fresh, is it easy to start unlike in Darkfall ??
6.) Tell me more about crafting ?? how many professions? Hows the economy?
7.) any conflict race ? and hows the pvp system actually... any overpower skills?
Thx guys for answering

Please whoever played the game or knows the answers posts.
I don't want this as into a flaming post...
1) Still fairly buggy and unfinished. DF at launch was by leaps and bounds superior product.
2) Only first person
3) You can attack anyone any time, If you kill innocents too much you turn red and if you just go on you'll start losing stats when you die. Reds aka Murderers and Greys aka criminals are free to kill without consequences. Theres also full loot.
4) There is, Houses serve no purpose other than to house a guildstone and guilds are in but serves no purpose currently.
5) It's harder than in Darkfall
6)theres armorcraft and weaponcraft. like 6 sheaths, blades and hilts and 12 different metals to make variations of them from you can mix and match as you please.
7) Last I tested pvp mages ruled all. There will be guild wars in future, not now. No factions whatsoever
this post above me is way to negatively written for me to believe...
1) The game isn't a turd as the above poster said but i will definitly wait a few weeks before recommanding to friends. However i myself don't mind the currents bugs and i enjoy the game for what it is. A sandbox mmo with all core feature enabled.
2) You can view yourself in the inventory window, the rest of the game is 1st
3)You are free to pvp anywhere, however criminals and murderers gets specials flagging that make them prime targets for others players. The punishement for dying (both criminals and innocents) is losing basicly all what you're wearing/carrying to the hand of your assassin.
4) Housing, keeps, palissades, guilds are in.
5) This game has no grind compared to Darkfall, you can catch up after a few weeks.
6) Can't tell you much about economy, it is very basic right now. The crafting is however very depth
7) There are imbalances in pvp, the magic system as an example is too imcomplete to compete with bow and melee.
Globally this game is a bless and a true sandbox feeling to the mmorpg genre. It is however not very polished yet. I you're not a die-hard UO fan then id suggest you to wait a few weeks before buying
1.) Game's been running pretty smooth with a lot of players, but the login server is looking a bit shaky atm (there's people still in-game, apparently it's running smooth in there). There were about 300+ people on the forums alone, so I'm guessing the server's getting spammed with login requests.
2) only first person. You can see your character and their armor in the 'equip / paper doll' menu, but that's about it for now.
3) PvP's pretty fun actually. A bit slow, but more deliberate which is cool. There's guarded cities that are pretty safe if you yell "guard" (just say "guards" in chat if someone's hitting you). Other than that, full PvP, full loot. You get red flagged if you kill too often; that means stat loss on death, and guarded cities are off limits (guards kill you as soon as someone says so)
4) Housing's in. The main benefit is extra storage and a place to be relatively safe. The framework is there for people to install various crafting appliances in their house (blueprints are on the market, etc). SV recently updated the housing system, I don't know much about it tbh.
5) There's no quests, so starting might be a bit harder. Just remember to hit "H", the help menu's more useful than it first looks. However, there will never be the 'level gap' between noobs and vets like there is in darkfall. There's a skill cap and you can reach it pretty quickly.
6) Crafting basically breaks down to weapon crafting (both melee and bow, which are different skill trees), armor / shield crafting (seperate skill trees) and houses.
Your choice of materials is key; different materials have different effects on the final product. There's typically no "best " combination of materials; you wanna find your own way to balance out damage, weight, durability, and how cool it looks.
There's also a lot of different blade types for each weapon, and a lot of handle types.
7) Most of the previously overpowered skills / weapons have been tweaked before launch. You could very well be the one to discover the next overpowered combination
Didn't fancy answering the questions then?

Thank you everyone who answered !!
I am well informed now !!! thank you very much.
This game seem does have a lot of unique ideas !!! even though maybe not polished enough, but it does have a smooth launch after all criticism...
I am continuing to do more research, then I'll let you all know if I am going to get it soon or later
Too bad it is the truth then isn't it?
BTW Dolmong you are obviously flame bait and don't care about an actual answer if it doesn't meet your pre-conceived impressions of the game.
"If you were as smart as you think you are, you would realize that you are an idiot"
Oh well guys, I am purchasing it now.
Is my problem, I am a very impatient guy.

"Player Housing will be similar to Star Wars Galaxies, in that the world is empty to begin with and will fill with houses as people create them. In other words, a building is unique, and is only there because someone built it; they are not reusable instance portals that any number of people use as their home."
OH HELL YA !!! That is one of the aspect make me playing SWG for 4 year non stop !!!! This is going to be hell of a game !! Also it has smooth launch !!! Why not a good game ??
Now I wish I can download the client asap !!!!
Please can anyone provide me some info on where can I find alternative location to download the client since the site is down?
How can you know if you can catch up or not ? i mean the game just started !
and LO, you answered your own question. (dumb guide, game only been live 24 hours, thus even the best player will only be 24 hours of game paly ahead of you)
TBH it does not take long to cap out your starting stats, fleshing out all your skills will take a lot longer.

skill cap; you have 1000 skillpoints to distribute as you like; once you spent them all you can still change them as you like take points from one skill to another;
probably a vet wil have more knowledge about game and mechanics (which is a advantage on itself) but the character you are playing in 3 months after playing 2 weeks might be exactly the same to a guy who played since launch, character wise, no playerwise ofc.
happy to help
Most rediculous thing I've heard today.
Questions. He asked them, and wanted answers that catered to both sides, pro's and con's. You'd respect that if you weren't blinded by a dislike for something. I mean, even STO has good points.

Yeah I would say predetermined to buy. If you have an imagination and can get past bugs etc. you will likely find the game enjoyable. I would expect that everytime they add a new feature there will be more issues than a typical MMO.
MO is going to be in a state of contant development and I would expect things to get failry messy at times. . for me it is worth it and I like the game but I would imagine a lot of people will get pretty upset and dissapointed.
The problem with a sandbox game is sometimes people do not feel compelled to log in. . especially in early MO where there are only basic tools / featurs. If people log in and struggle because a new feature etc. caused problems. . crashes etc. . pretty soon they might not bother to log in.
If MO can get past the first growing pains. .and I expect them to be large. . the game will be well worth it.
