Was just wondering, is there much of a difference between the preorder of APB on the RTW site, than steam. I see that steam is £5 cheaper, but does preordering the game from the RTW site offer any additional incentive than steam?

Only the fact that you have to log into steam to play APB if you buy it from there.

Personally, i would order from the APB site or EA. Steam has yet to release the KTTC keys or a downloadable client where both are availiable form RTW and EA. Steam will most likely not have a downloadable client or Keys until the 12th.

Considering noone will be playing till saturday anyway, those keys are, for the moment, just a random assortment of numbers on your screen.
Actually you don't have to be logged into Steam. Steam downloads all to your steamapps folder which programs can be run individually. Steam is just another distribution source.
Well, not really. You do need a Key to create your account on the website. If your account name, or ability to post on the forums is of any importance to you there is one reason to get APB from a source that is on the ball with their Keys. As I said before Steam will probably not have a downloadable client UNTIL the 12th. Therefore depending on your internet connection spped and the time the nearly 8gig client becomes availiable on steam, you may not even be able to play on the 12th.
That is why i recommend buying your copy of APB from some source besides Steam. If none of the above bothers you, go right ahead and purchase yourcopy from steam.
Here on the steam board you can get a sense of the level of general dissatisfaction amung customers http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=899
I'm not here to bash steam or anything, I bought my copy from them. Just figured I'd provide a bit of insight on the current Pros and Cons.
Hope the information helped someone.

Wll I don't care much for the KTTC, as I'm in the PTW. Having said that I think I will play it safe and order from the developers. It is actually £25 from game but I have enough boxes as it is lol.
i preordered through steam but decided to download the client from the APB site. Do i have to download from steam again or can i just input the CD key when steam decides to realease the dam keys? I was hopeing this works considering ive already downloaded the client from APB's site and it would save me plenty of time instead of influx of steam downloads on the 12th.
As far as I know you are fine. You should be able to use any client as long as it is the correct version and you have an account with a registered key. I did the same thing you did.

Phew....tx for the reply i figured this was the best course of action to jump right in during the event. I see a storm brewing over at steams end and i didnt want to be part of that fiasco. It took me 8 hours to download the cleint which makes me wonder how much longer it would take on steams end during the influx of traffic when they decide to let the gates open all at one time
Aye, thats a good decision. with my experience there are always major issues with Steam on release days. Often you sit staring at a download that wont start because to many people are downloading already, then once your download starts it seems I only get about 1/3 the DL rates I could be getting. So yes, getting the APB client from their site probably saved you a Saturday of waiting and frustration .
