Everything i see on the website including video looks alot like darkfall as far as i can tell it seems identical unless someone can point out the differences, what is different about this game?.

There is same idea behind both games, but different approach.

In MO you can't be everything, skill points are limited(The main idea). There is only first person view. There are some features DF doesn't have like taming and thievery (I think). The crafting system is more advanced. Banks are local. Oh, and the sky looks cool.

Those are few difference I can comeup with.

Modifiable terrain.. Don't think DF has that one, could be wrong though.

Comparing Mortal Online to Darkfail would be like comparing Christianity and Islam to Judaism. Oh wait it's all the same crap, only a different twist.

When did you start playing "old school" MMO's. World Of Warcraft?

    Just a few.

    1. MO has less grind but unfortunately less content as well.

    2. World design is worse in MO - partly because there is no Speed Tree implemented yet.

    3. MO is first person only, DF is FPS and TPS.

    4. MO's melee combat is a bit better then DF's.

    5. Mo's crafting system is more interesting.

    6. No sea combat in MO.

    7. MO is far behind in polish in comparision to DF.

But how is the cheating?, in darkfall so many players were cheating whole guilds were using teleport hacks, speed hacks, wall removal and radar hacks i was getting sick of getting ambushed by some guy running speed hacks moving so fast all i could see was a blur, even one guy flying around called gm he got banned right away.

last few months they were banning large amounts of players but all they do is buy new accounts and start the cheating cycle over and over again.

Game is fun. Get a few dollars out and give it a try it will save you asking questions.

It's too early to see if MO's cheat detection is working tbh.  I haven't seen any signs of cheating/hacking yet, but who knows.

Well all of those things are available to MO as well, so don't be surprised to see hackers if you do play. Them getting banned is a different story because I don't think Starvault can afford to lose people seeing as they needed to go retail to get more funding.

I'd post links but MMORPG.com slaps me then, youtube / google is your friend.

There certainly isn't modifiable terrain in MO or DF to my knowledge.

There is nothing realistic about plate armor blocking archery damage. The longbow made plate armor obsolete, as it easily went right through it.

Ok, at 20 meters with perfect aim it seems the longbow is fairly effective. Of course, much of the idea was to deflect the attow, not just stop it.

Saying that Darkfail has "polish" is laughable and completely nullifies any veracity your points 1-6 may have had.  In fact "polish" and "Darkfail" should only be used in the same sentence if "lack of" preceeds "polish."

You are quite right. I failed at properly explaining myself. For volley fire, plate is very effective. For the distances involved in a typical MMO (in other words, direct fire), a longbow would almost always defeat plate armor. I know wikipedia says differently, but this has been demonstrated many times. You make a valid point though.

Tell that to all those dead french nobs in Agincourt........

I bet they're pretty pissed off right now and complain to St.Peter or Beelzebub (probably) that:

One must keep in mind that one game is a few days old and the other is a few months old,  This makes a big difference in reguards to patching and so on.  That being said I think MO has had a much smoother launch than DF did.

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

Darkfall is built entirely around PvP.

    MO is an RPG.

I played DF for almost 6 months, MO since block A beta.  They're nothing alike.

    Fixed :P

Im tired of people saying Darkfall is pvp game when you have to go over korean grind first months till you are even able to pvp (have a chance in a fight). Anyone who says its possible from day 1 is working for Tasos or is die hard fanboy. Fact :P

the longbow made warfare annoying, it didnt take plate off the field.

the heavy crossbow bolt was what killed full plate shield knights at a distance, but even then it didnt take full plate off the field.

the gun took plate off the field, with its long fairly accurate range and lethal impact to any target, reguardless of steel armor.

To be fair, the archers at Agincourt aimed mainly for the horses rather than the knights...the mud did most of the work

Also Bodkin arrows were good at "finding" gaps in the armour.  They didn't penetrate the chestpiece.
