This may be the best CG trailer I have ever seen. It was really engaging and action packed. It made me wish they would make a full length feature out of this, but alas it will never happen.
I loved seeing troopers mix it up with the Sith. Everyone keeps talking about choosing a Sith or a Jedi, but I personally am all about the trooper.

Agreed! I'd gladly hit the movie theatre for that!
What'll be entertaining is 9 days from now all of the doubters and their new 'it's going to be missing, uh uh.. slavery!'
While there are some people who just want to doubt this game I think a lot of people you are insulting in this post really just want people to calm down and stop misrepresenting this game. Right now we have very little information on the game and there are people out there saying that it will be the best thing ever. A lot of us want to see the information on how the game will play. This sort of release, a cinematic trailer, is not that information. You say that you like this game more and more, but what did this cinematic trailer tell you about the game? Not much.
What those "doubters" are tired of is people saying that a cinematic makes this game great. The reason people are critical of the game is because when players sit there and say a developer is doing fine we get games like STO. So many people there sat around saying, "Don't worry. Cryptic knows what they're doing. It's Star Trek. It will be great." The same thing is going on in the SW:TOR forums and has been since I joined the day it began.
So truthfully, I would rather see the critics continue for 9 days and 200 more after that. I would rather have people being critical of the game so that we know our concerns are heard than people sitting there and telling everyone to trust Bioware. The people who are critical and questioning are the ones who will push for the content that a lot of people are hoping for.
I understand your point but I'm not sure I entirely agree. The main difference between this and the horrible travesty that was STO is Bioware. I own every game they've been involved with as far as I know and I have yet to see one I would call less than spectacular. I realize they've never done an mmo before but honestly, for me at least, I trust Bioware because they've earned my trust. No other game company has. Not one. Bioware fanboi? Perhaps, up until they make a game that is not exceptionally entertaining. If sw:tor isn't great I'll hop on here with a "you were right and I was wrong" post. Anyway, I'm willing to wait and see.
As far as a company never having done an MMO before, look at Blizzard. I mean, they never did one before, they took 5+ years to work on the game, and they created the phenomenom that is WoW! Yes, it might not be perfect, but it has enough appeal to enough people to be one of the most successful MMO's of all time. I believe SWTOR has this potential as well. Bioware certainly seems to be taking the right steps.
As far as ship combat goes, at least we're getting a ship hehe. I wouldn't count out combat yet, but if it's not there, no biggie, I'm sure it'll be there in an expansion.
"Having made an MMO" is overrated. I do not know of a single company that's made more than one brilliant MMO (well, maybe SOE, but we know how people feel about them! )

I agree that Bioware is great. I have been playing them since Baldur's Gate and have always been in love with their games. I just feel like when people begin saying that a company can do no wrong they not giving the company a reason to do anything. I'm not trying to say Bioware will make a bad game because there is no one complaining, but being critical means there are people out there constantly pushing Bioware for PvP or housing. It's great to hear more of those yesterday, but we should always be pushing so that they know what we care about.

I pretty much agree with your overall point, but mostly because I think BioWare is more conscious. They'll listen to good ideas...You're point would have a lot more validity if Cryptic was anywhere close to BioWare in reputation. Or if you just left STO out of the argument. The fact is SWTOR is going to have almost 4 years of Production time and countless millions in support over that Cryptic mess to go along with BioWare's experience and Lucas Arts input...It's funny because I know Guildies who still play STO and claim they love it yet they are SUPER skeptical now about SWTOR due to their experience on that borefest...I'm not sayiong SWTOR will be the greatest Game ever...I have no idea...But I do guarantee it will be one million times better than STO, so the comparison here is a little suspect...

Just saying...
The problem is what good ideas should Bioware listen to? The people who are saying Bioware can do no wrong are not really giving a lot of ideas as a lot of them think that Bioware has it all planned out. I'm not saying don't have faith in Bioware, just to not let that stop you from being critical.
And I picked STO because it was the most recent to me, but WAR and AoC could have worked just as well.

It's what people speculate that is or isn't in the game that's stupid. An outraged community that knows knowing of the game, being proved wrong over and over again that indeed Bioware knows what the hell they're doing, it's just pure hate.
All the bickering from the TOR haters has only been one thing, this game looks fresh enough to steal some of WoW's thunder and therefore it's the new WoW. That's not really something bad to inherit in my opinion. When the game launches I'm expecting a good story, some MMORPG gameplay (which simply all MMORPGs have), and a well polished game that'll take me.. Oh a good couple of months to take care of the bulk of the made content, and then hopefully the company has put some of that $$ into real research in what keeps maxed players playing MMORPGs. There's a lot of older games that have done this in various ways and they'll all probably be used as a model for the new season of MMORPGs, but that is NOT a bad thing.
And people are daft in thinking it is.
I kill other players because they're smarter than AI, sometimes.
I figured. The coincidence was too similar (one relatively short trailer and then a longer, more epic one). Every company should hire them if they have the means, they're top-notch.
Looks nice but yet another trailer with no gameplay footage. I know G4 showed a little but really would like to see much more in that department. Getting lots of hype but yet to actually see the substance that they keep talking about. Sounds like AOC and WAR before they launched.
Agree, i think many of us are waiting for the same. The trailer is badass, but knowing that it isnt even remotely close to the game its kind of like who cares? We're going to be playing a game, not watching a movie, so show us the actual game. And I don't mean short little clips strung together using special camera angles and crap to make it look cool, get us some people actually jumping into a mission and playing through it a few minutes, or some real PvP battles.
I don't think it's too much to ask for maybe 2 vids, about 3-5 minutes apiece of people actually running around doing what we will be doing ingame to give us a pretty good idea.
Well I for one don't want PvP PERIOD - yes Star WARS implies by its very environment that there is a battle between the two sides this does NOT however imply that this means PvP MUST be in the game. If BIOWARE deems it worthy to be included I still expect as a PVE subscriber that I will be able to venture ANYWHERE in the game world unmolested by other players unless I specifically flag my character as wanting to participate in PvP and I will take my money elsewhere if even a HINT of the 'baiting' concepts other developers have utilised to force PVE players into PvP territories by placing game/story/loot progression items required for advancement solely in these locations so PvP players have others to shoot at.
DEFINITION OF REALITY: Graphics ok, Sound ok, Gold drops need more work...

well its looking good so far so i think I'll give it a try xP

It was made by the same company, Blur.

Awesome trailer. Wish the graphics in the game were as realistic as in this movie.
If that were so, only 2% of the world's populace who are rich and interested in MMos would play it.
I was ok with the all the way till she Kamehamehad.
