Intrplay has launched a site for their upcoming MMO based on the Fallout IP. While the project has been plagued with legal issues with Bethesda, the site's launch marks a rare sign of progress for the game, offering fans a chance to sign up for the game's newsletter and to be informed when beta registration begins.
Fallout Online, which is now the title's official name, is being published by Interplay and developed by Masthead Studios, the developers of the post-apocalyptic MMO Earthrise.
Check out the site here.

Interplay managed to bring the right developers together and gave them enough space to produce the best RPG's every created. Planescape Torment, Fallout 1 & 2, Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate 1.
REALITY CHECK
So it's true? Sorry I had doubts, finally got the shockwave to run. Whois checks out to interplay as well >.<
"Yea, I've been drinking again.."
Is this going to be a point and click MMO?
I hope not. My guess is they will end up using Bethesda's Elder engine and build the multiplayer on top of that.
I just noticed the forums for that site haven't gone live yet either, this must be really fresh news.
"Yea, I've been drinking again.."
lol the site is down, atleast for me right now, looks like Im not the only one interested in this.
Playing Fallen Earth right now but this was good news.
Post-apocalypse for the win.
yea I just noticed it was down too when I was trying to get to the forums. Alexia is showing they are having a huge surge in traffic in the past hour heh
"Yea, I've been drinking again.."
looks like it's back up, but running really slow.
Have you not read the Bible?
Oh, yeah, yeah... Not all of it. Actually, I'm listening to it on tape.
Don't tell me how it ends.
If they have the skill based options and the ropleplay value of fall out 1 and 2 this will be the best MMO ever made IMHO. There are few RPGs that can even come close to Fallout in the way you could be a good guy or a bad guy and it was still great. The cookies where lines or people from film would appear that brought a smile to me when you got to say such immortal words as there are two types of people in this world those with guns and those who dig.
Now obviously these are massive shoes to fill, perhaps it just can't be done with an MMO. Perhaps it can never be done again with computer games, shame on Fallout 3 stoping me from being able to kill those kids. But if we can see an MMO where activities in the game lead to perks and the amazing character progression tools then this could well be the last ever MMO I play.
I am so very excited about this. Let's hope it happens!
They have to, Interplay is under contract by Bethesda and reciently had lawyers up Interplays ass about the delivery of this game heh. I think they might even fastforward the 4 year gold standard and make it in two... or they might prolong it like Daikatana..
