so i went back to darkfall recently to find it quite dead compared to what it use to be. it was kindof dissapointing because you use to be able to walk just about anyhwere and find a good pvp fight now you have to search around a bit. its a great game and i love playing it just need to grow a bit for my likeing. Im looking forward to the new patch/expansion of this game this year i just need something else to play.
- im LF some great action pvp thats well populated
so ive been looking at purchasing EvE everyone tells me its just like darkfall in most gameplay aspects of the game im downloading the free trial now to test it out id like to get any input anyone is willing to throw at me.
- Ive also looked at vanguard a bit but how is it as far as pvp goes.
- And i relly dont wanna play AoC just not my type of game

EVE isn't anything like Darkfall.
It's PVP based and you lose everything on you when you die. That's as far as the simliarities go.

The games really are not comparible, only in that they are considered 'sandbox'.
Still, I think I actually prefer the PvP in DarkFall as it requires a lot more individual player skill, whereas EvE is more about the fleet setup.
They both do thing differently.
Yet I still prefer the PvP in Warhammer Online and Guildwars by far.
I would suggest DarkSpace as it's free, yet I am not sure you would really like it.

I know you don't want to hear it, but unless you played AoC, you don't know it's not your kind of game. There used to be a barrier in the boxed price, but with the free Tortage trials there is no excuse beyond the download taking some of your time. ~and that's a lame excuse.
I've played both games, only PvPed in Eve because I stopped playing the DF trial. The UI and controls are a nightmare, and I just won't put up with it, but Eve PvP is pretty fun/scary because when it finds you, you'd better be prepared. I lost a destroyer, which is nothing, but I refused to go into 0.0 sec with my battleship until I had the funds to get another. That never happened before I walked from the game, took forever to get the one I was piloting.
The I game I would recommend purely on it's free-PvP is Face of Mankind. The game itself lacks in many places, but you can wander planet to planet doing your thing and will find some kind of opposition, and since all gear is available and fairly static in the stats, anyone has a chance if they are good. It's pure FPS-style combat, and when war is going on it gets really good. During New Year's there was crazy fights going on because the LED (faction of police) decided to raid a bunch of planets while everyone was off. For 16 hours straight I went planet to planet holding off the cops with my faction and the ally that was getting hit. Roughly 50+ vs 50+ in an open field planet and a few others with lots of corridors to set up fire-lines on. Good stuff, but it's only that good when there's war going on, and not just small-group raids.

Darkfall has been designed from the outset as a full-loot PVP game, meaning on death players are able to fully loot other players of their gear and gold on their person. The ability to fully loot other players has been factored into the game as an important facet of the RTS-like logistical meta-game between warring clans.
while Eve online advance continuously over time by training skills, a passive process that occurs in real world time so that the learning process continues even if the player is not logged in. Skills vary in their Rank, an indicator of how many skill points players have to acquire in order to train the skill. For example, a Rank 2 skill takes at least twice as long to train as a Rank 1 skill. Skills can take anywhere from a few minutes to several months to train. Though each account can have up to three characters created, only one of these can train at a time.
AoC looks interesting to me i love the combat system but before i go and put money into a game id like to get some good input on it ive played the free trial and the only thing i dont know about is how is the activity/population on the pvp servers?
Played:WoW,WH,Aion,Darkfall,DaOC,AoC,EQ2.

I am on the same page as you! LOL
Also have been waiting for Darkfall's next population boom . .. luckily there is going to be a huge one tomorrow for the patch and DF2010 is going to be a lot of fun! Been harvesting in Darkfall and PVEing casually while playing other games on the side.
These are the games that I am currently playing:
Ryzom - They have a free-trial so why not? I will never log into this game again . ... I liked how funny looking I could make my character though LOL I ran into an invisible wall way too fast, asked a bunch of questions about the PVP, realised that I could make a macro to kill these mobs because they were so easy . ..
Age of Conan - During release I had a lot of fun PVP in Tortage Underhalls and wanted to get at least a few minutes of this again. After playing Darkfall the UI/controls feel very clunky and there has only been one empty instance besides a bunch of level 25s waiting for someone to try and PVE but the Underhalls were totally empty. I tried to turn off all the red-circles around the mobs, chat window, floating numbers, fluffy stuff, and everything besides my health and stamina and mana or whatever for a more realistic Darkfall kind of feel but it would not let me and once I started fighting the stupid mobs it was just not realistic looking or challenging enough for me to be playing it for the PVE. I cannot turn off the lights and put on my headphones and get into this game like I can with Darkfall.
Guildwars - Totally love this game! It is so worth the money . .. you can choose only 8 skills/spells to bring into combat and because your secondary class can be anything, every spell/skill is available so you can come up with some very unique and fun builds to play! I play this game religiously for about 20 minutes a day . .. I hate the PVE besides having to test new builds which is always fun, but lucky PVE does not have advantage over a PVP character that you can choose to roll at day one without any grind. I am looking forward to Guildwars 2. It is a very fun 'safe' escape from Darkfall that has instant action without any time required.
Global Agenda - I have had more fun playing games that came out 10-15 years ago that are also FPS. I do have fun kiting people though which seems to work in most every game . .. but I am so sick of the same maps and lack of options. None of the maps are fun enough for me to want to keep playing over and over. It seems that people are either aiming at the robot they are building or the ally they are healing while the others are just getting the biggest guns and bombs that they can so that they do not have to aim very much . .. I am having fun playing it though if it is only a couple maps a day.
Darkfall - For when I want the unpredictable that can end up feeling like I got hit in the stomach really hard or an epic rush of a win. Most of the time.
Games that you are thinking about:
Vanguard - If there was any PVP in this game than I would SURELY be on my twinks killing all sorts of people to take their infamy and coin. Anyone. I have a twink in every tier. Unfortunately there is no one to be found but a zerg of level 50s.
Eve - Thinking of trying this game myself but it kind of looks like playing a screen saver . ..
