Last ditch effort

I've been bouncing from game to game for many months now.

I played FFXI for about 4 years, and been playing WoW off and on since release. Before that  I played EQOA for a year or so, and UO for about a year. FFXI and WoW are the two I have stuck with the longest. But now, I can't seem to play anything for longer than a few weeks, and sometimes I even cancel the same day. Right now I'm subbed to Conan, but having a hard time getting into it due to playing tortage again for the zillionth time. I was playing WoW again before that, but cancelled 2 days later.  So I still have time left this month on it. I also tried Vanguard, and just couldn't deal with how much troubleshooting I had to do to make it run, same with EQ2. Lotro is just another WoW clone, Aion is another clone with some zerg centric PVP and a HUGE grind, EVE just doesn't appeal to me and Fallen Earth and Darkfall both felt like they still needed years of development. And every F2P game out there costs more than 15 bucks a month to play to get anywhere. So I am back at square one. Right now.. Here's the games I will not play.. and here's the games I'd go back to if I had to pick.

Games I will not play:

EVE

EQ2

LOTRO

WAR

VG

SWG

DDO

Games I'd give a second chance:

FFXI

WOW

AOC

I'm having trouble picking between those three.. because my heart wants to play FFXI, but my brain knows I don't have that kind of time. I play about  3 hrs a night, and I don't play every night, and more on weekend nights. Most of the stuff in FFXI takes a half hr to an hr just to get started. I also do other stuff mid game, online.. and that doesn't work too well with FFXI. AoC's combat is fun, but the world feels boxed in and linear. The graphics are amazing and I want to try the PVP but mini games seem dead, and I havent' gotten far enough in to do world pvp yet. WoW is the game I always go back to. I like that it runs on a toaster, and the PVP has always been pretty fun. I don't like the dungeon finder because of how empty it made the world, but I appreciate it on my busy schedule. I know more people in that game than any other.

I'm 28, a dad, an actor and a film maker. I spend most of my free time making movies, but I also like to sit back, relax and take a load off.. and when I do that, MMO's are where I go. Help me pick!

Then based off your note you really have two choices WoW or AoC.  Both are fairly casual games and AoC actually has an "offline" leveling system where after level 30 you gain a free level every four days as long as your account is current.  Memory serves right the raids have weekly timers on them making it even more casual.

Personally been bouncing around quite a bit myself too.  Just have that homeless feeling but hopefully someday I'll find a nice cozy home.

First off just wanted to put that in there, LOTRO did not copy wow, wow copied Asheron's call which was made by Turbine, whom make Lotro.

Just sick of people saying Lotro is a wow clone when WoW is the actual clone.

There are not many games out right now Id say wait for GW2, DCUO or SWTOR. Till then, play Witcher?

You didn't give a reason for not playing DDO, but I find that it fits nicely into a busy lifestyle.  Log in for a couple of hours, do a dungeon or two, log out.

Edit: I saw your generic "every f2p costs more then 15 bucks to play" comment.  In reference to DDO, you know you can sub for 15 a month and have access to everything, and currently they're offering double the free Turbine points to subscribers.

Im in the same boat to be honest, there is just nothing out there anymore.

Perhaps you could try Project Entropia if you like 'real life' type economy, PVE and exploring.

Game requires depositing real money but for 20bucks a month you could go long way if you spend the money right.
