Imperials were still OP especially with AT-ST's. But that was done for lore of course. I remember when AT ST's went server  and 6 Imps could take down most of a town and you couldnt put a dent in those things. Even after a nerf, 1v1 equall skill , it ws a Rebs ass. I played both so I know .... and better yet, 2 AT- ST's till they nerfed that down to 1.

From what I read Skills will be balanced around pvp, and If you think about It, playing any MMO that does not have FPS controls are very hard to balance in pvp, sticky targeting takes the skill out of a game and  makes it a live action team chess game, not a bad thing but not personal skill. no biggie tho. Anyway I was just messing with people on that the Dark becoming OP.

The reason of this topic isjoke about the bad bitter taste that was left in my mouth from Blizzard's Horde faction, you can't have balance when one faction has Aoe stuns & Silences, so this was ment to be a inside joke to the ones that play or played WoW.

PS .I plain to play a Bounty Hunter, so It looks like I'll be playing Dark. and I have faith in Bioware to try to balance the best that they can.

No genius, Gravity binds the galaxy together.

Well, not really, there are many spots on the universe between galaxies where there is a total absence of gravity and the universe doesnt collapse because of that so...its complicated

My point was going to be isn't gravity a force?

Gravity is a force not The Force. I'm pretty sure of that because things fall so gravity exists and Jedi don't exist so The Force doesn't.

There's gravity everywhere in the Universe by the way.

Ohh.. This just got interesting.. So are you talking about Gravity as it is currently understood by accepted modern physics, or are we speculating String Theory here?  You know, those other 6 dimensions that got all wrapped up with the Big Bang where Stirng Theory states that a majority of Gravities effects are felt in those other dimensions, thus explaining it's relative weakness in the 4 dimensions we live in???

Or are we going to get into the possibility that our current world is a 3-D projection of a 2-D reality?

thast what people thought leading up the warhammers launch  but we saw DESTRO become very populated and ORDER become very over powered...and all the devs  played order..i can not name one of the big name guys who worked on warhammer who played DESTRO

I have a feeling that most players will be playing on both sides, so it'll be a  while before people start gravitating toward one or the other.

If we find a server overpopulated we could instigate an Aion-esque system where you can't make a character if the servers are too far favoured in one factions direction and vica versa. Or, we could apply a situation where in PvP, players on the outnumbered faction gain a buff like 'The Republic/Empire's Finest' or 'Spirit of the Honey Badger or whatever, which basically buffs armour, health, DPS and some other useful stats to help balance gameplay out. Of course, it would never be perfect, but it'd be a start towards helping the general situation.

    Playing: LoL x3
Played: RS, WoW, SWG, TR, Aion, AoC, EVE, SWTOR
    Watching: FireFall, GW2

    1. Nice avatar.

    2. I think buffs or NPC allies would be prudent to help balance the PvP; from what I've seen so far (polls and general opinion), it seems that the Empire will be slightly more popular, but it's pretty even (as it always ends up being anyways). Both sides have attractive races - that's what matters. Unlike, say, WoW, who had Orcs, Undead, Tauren, and Trolls for... what, 3 years? Then pretty-boy Blood Elves came and guess what, the factions suddenly seemed much more balanced. In TOR, both sides have "cool" classes, both sides have "cool" gear, and no one is a break-dancing, tusked, Jamaican, scrawny yet abnormally tall doofus.

    1.  The game is still in Alpha/Beta testing!  Balance changes come late in Beta, frequently in the final weeks before a MMO releases.

    2.  NDA?  When was it lifted?  I don't follow this one closely, but information like this shouldn't get out.

    3.  ???

    4.  Profit.  The game is all about profit.  They won't make a side dominate the other through a blatant game imbalance if they want to keep subscribers from canceling.

Since the "dark side" can be either the republic or sith empire, I think that means both sides are overpowered.

also, Thank god for telling me this.  Now in a year when I play, I will know which side I can bitch about!  Wait that doesn't even make sense because of my first statement.

50 bucks says this dev cares more about his financial success based on the quality of the game than being a little better in PvP....

Gravity is actually quite weak (a tiny fridge magnet can defeat the gravilty of the entire earth) so who's to say there aren't more powerful forces than gravity holding the universe together?
