What's the difference between being lv50 in ryl, and being 95? (No bashing)

Hi!

I've been playing the beta for some time now, gotten to lvl 56 with my warrior and so far I kinda like it. The PvE seems pretty fun so far (might be because I havn't gotten that far yet), and the PvP is okay. I was just wondering though, because I can't really see it.

What other things are there to do once you reach lvl 95? Will the PvP change into something more advanced and more exciting? Does the PvE continue with raid bosses, heavy hard obtainable-equipment etc? Or will it all just remain as it was at lvl 56?

I'd love to play the game, but I'm afraid it might get dull in the long run :/

Everyone that I know that payed to play this game is demanding a refund now so I would guess what you are worried about is true.

Ryl, like other mmorpg's is always changing and improving. Suggestions have been made by people on the forums and PWG takes these into account. We mite be soon seeing different colour armors/weapons, dragon-like pets that protect you and even another class change!! all of these ideas have been put forward to PWG but i would have to think they'd add more variety in the game, coz lvl 90-150 would be boring without any extras

When Ryl PoTE had been launched they told that now youur stats (hp/mmp/items/damage/etc) will be better than have lvs.

Like if you have good equip at lv 50 you can win a guy that is lv 70 now cuz lv dont make SO MUCH difference.

Sure it makes cuz when you take more lvs, can take new equips and more stats... so lv is important to you get powerfull but same powerfull you can die to a lower lv.

I with 45 archer can kill enchanters 65 in 1 hit (of skill) and when enchanter buff me i can kill lv 75+ chanters... my bow is A+ gold damage, than seeing that lv isnt important at all. ^^

understood what i said ? hehe not good english^^

the difference in lvl 56 and lvl 95 is there is a LONG grind and that's it. the skills are pretty much it and you just get more dmg n def n hp. Other than that.. it's the end of the road. That's why it's really not worth your while playing this game.

    Thanks for the answers!

I think im gonna keep in touch with the game for a while to see what happens. Might start playing although I havn't made up my mind yet :/. I'll probably wait for a while and hope for some more info from the devs.

well OZ... if you want to put it in such simple terms... so is everyother RPG/MMORPG out there... WoW? Yep... GW? Yep.... <insert game> yep... So to just say one game is just a grind..(RYL has quite a lesser grind then most other games...) and the gameplay is monotonic.... is just saying that about all other games.::::12::

Yes, there is a long amount of time in between Level's 56 and 95, there is no doubt about that. However, here's what else will happen between those levels:

    - You'll come across better versions of your armor and weapons and will be able to upgrade them at the Blacksmith, making your gear better and better.
    - You'll have to talk to people, make friends, and start leveling in the Woods of Death and start the exploration of the Second Island, Caevernon, which is bigger than The Almighty Grounds.
    - You'll get drops from all the mobs you and your new friends kill. Minerals to upgrade, items to Stat Transfer, spells to sell.
    - If you join a guild and start into the PvP world, you'll be killed a lot, and hopefully kill a lot in return :)
    - If you join a guild, you'll be building, defending, and repairing Fortresses and Towers throughout the game world.
    - If you join a guild, you can create catapults and flying siege machines to destroy enemy towers.

I'm currently a level 63 Rune Officiator. Because my main skill is INT, I have a lot more Skill Points than other classes, so I'm constantly switching skills around, learning new ones, switching for leveling, etc. Getting to around 50 was pretty normal as far as the MMORPG grind goes. I got there by myself and then met up with a group of people who I now regularly level with. It's slower than the beginning, but the new mobs and new places are fun & interesting. I'm glad to pick up a level a week now, because if I ever get bored with the leveling and picking up the high level drops, I can simply run out and attack an enemy fortress to insight some PvP.

I've generally been a Sci-Fi MMORPG player (Neocron), but RYL has many fine points, and at the Founder's Guild offer of 7 Months for the price of 3, coming dowdn to like $5 a month, I couldn't say no :)

I absolutely agree with your points that there is something along those levels. What I am trying to say is... the skills... it's all the same.. u'll have nothing to look forward to but maxing the skills. Other mmorpgs will have more new skills as you reach higher levels.. in RYL.. there isn't.. period

And you try to bash this game because it doesn't have 12131213 skills/abilities? I didn't know great games should have a lot of skills to make it enjoyable. image

sure, some people think too many skills might be bad, but in this game you dont get any new ones past 10...ever. your style of killing stuff is the same at level 95 as at level 10. every time ive hit 10 with my many characters, i get kinda bored because i know i have nothing cool to look forward to that'll change my tactics.
if they implement a second class change, that would be so damn awesome.

This is actually a HUGE falacy of the game.  The one thing that keeps shadowbane alive is it's PVP... why is it so good?  Because you can have two people of the same class with entirely different builds.

In RyL my shadow off at level 35 now only  has 3 skills that I can use in my hotbar... stealth, backstab, and some dart shooting ability!

Sure I could pick up magic arrow, or bind... or somthing else.  You don't have the points for it as a Shadow.

This is a really bad thing and I hope they  change it up with new classes soon...  because if I go into pvp with only my backstab and stealth (having to drop the shooting ability because it's not as affective) that's so freaking boring and NO strategy at all to it...

By not giving us more skills to choose from, they limit replayability (since we will most likely never make another person of the same class to try a different build) and also kills our choices for PVP... everyone hates it when choices are limited!

I thought WoW didn't have enough useful skills for my hunter personally, and RyL is a lot worst... wish I could get my monthly payment back :(

oh well, I guess I'll keep playing and support it since I did already pay for it...

Well... yes, at the lower levels, the skill points seem limited, but you gain one per level.... at the max level (150) you will have enough points for 5 skills to be fully maxed out (4.6).

At level 70+ you will definately see more experiemental characters go for pvp and new variety between all the characters... since this game's max level is 150.... you won't be able to experience all it's features and possiblities at lvl 35.

The game is never dull with bitter rivalries. Unlike Shadowbane the topography isn't completely leveled out and you can built forts in very strategic areas. I have a really nice one in mind once my guild reaches the neccessary fame.

During OB we placed our fort on an outcropping of land surrounded by steep hills on three sides and a cliff on the other. The only downfall was that one of the steep hills raised higher then our fort which was a moderate security risk, yet only made it all the funner!

In a game like this it's easy to create a reputation. I've seen people run at the sight of my guild's crest, and others fall as they challenge it. It's always very exciting.
