Can you leave your ship? Is there planet exploration?

in Jumpgate Evolution

Sorry if these questions have been answered already.

I know that there is docking.  But will players be able to get out of their ships?

Also, is there any planet exploration?

    NO and no. Planet exploration is not planned as of yet and neither is avitar gameplay. Though who knows if the game does well we may see some cool things like that.

    They have stated that there main focus is space and will be for a while.

    They would need more money than TOR got to make that game.

    Or at least make a good one.

    I would love to see it one day, but likely no, not even remotely soon. Like, not within the first 5 years of release kinda "not soon". Right now I'd rather they focus on fleshing out the economy/social aspects of the game since its going to launch with a near 100% combat focus at the moment (which is fine, but I'd like them to eventually round the game out a bit rather than being purely about pew pew)

    Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts.

    well exploration and avatars are gonna take a hell lot more resource, and i dont think that is likely to happen

    imagine you can walk into every Base Station you entounter, and even land on planets with actual maps on them

    that is gonna need a lot of dev and yeah, so far only STO offers this

    but then again, when you land, it's instanced, and that sucks

     

    im gonna wait until the time where one day, 1 dev will create EVE like MMO, with dynamic world exploration, and an actual maps on each planet, and with avatar

     

    know what? imagine EVE + SW TOR

    epic as hell, i would give my life to it

     I would rather imagine Jumpgate Evolution + SWTOR to be honest. Eve is not a space shooter at all. If you can't fly your ship, I won't be playing a "space" MMO

    Thanks for answering my questions, and the info :)  SWg does it as well, but who wants to play SWG?  Yeah a mix of Jumpgate and  TOR would be awesome!
