Any decend NON-FANTASY mmorpg's around?
Well, im kinda really bored with your typical fantasy game with elves, swords and magic,,
so i was looking for something that AT LEAST has a little different setting,
Eve is the first game that comes to mind, and i usually turn back to that game, but right now im learning some huge skills and wanna play something else for a change
Global agenda seems cool, but i dont really know if its a planetside like game or more of a tabula rasa like game, coz i would be delighted to play a shooter hybrid, but i aint looking for just a regular run of the mill FPS
ace online / pirate galaxsy: im not on friendly terms with cash shop games, ESPECIALLY ACE ONLINE, where you need to stand in front of a real ingame gabling machine to win OR LOOSE prizes for real life money.....
SWG: decent game but never the same after nge and i allready have played the game extensively.
Fallen earth: definetely a good game, but needs some more polish imo, i really liked this game even during beta but i just cant stand the uber crappy combat animations etc, maybe they enhenced the combat elements in this game by now?
Star Trek Online: there is so god damn little* content in this game, IF you dont play it like the way i do - meaning no more than 2-3 hours A WEEK, ur gonna hate this game and join my legendary forum thread about sto to voice ur opinions heheh:D
Anarchy Online: Too uber old graphics, but otherwise this game is one of my all time favourites, along with eve online,, ahh sweet memories. I will be back when they (if ever) update the graphics engine as they had once announced they would,,,
FINALLY: champions online /Coh / Cov: well, i played cov AND CO for a while and kinda enjoyed em but i cant see myself playing any of those games long term.
Am I missing anything ? :P I survey the mmorpg.com game list and mostly all i can find is a countless number of identical asian fantasy grinders, (with a few AAA titles like the ones i mentioned above)
...............but maybe there is a gem in the rough that i am missing?

This is NOT a complaint post in any way! Sweet god there are so many games to play out there, and so much to do in real life,
im just looking for a little mmo gaming advice, thats all.

Mortal Online and Darkfall aren't really fantasy type games but just a heads up...Mortal Online is in a bad state of launch and you might feel like you wasted your money buying the game now so just wait a few months and look it up again.

Lots of RP sims in Second Life based around any genre you can think of. There is combat, not great by any means, but there is combat with the help of HUDs you get from the sim owner. There are quite a few RP sims that don't require RP, they are called Combat Sims.
Probably won't like it, but just throwing it out there. It's free though.
Not a great resource to find them, I can't remember the one I used in the past. But, this should give you an idea.
(Sim basically means an island with it's own rule set)
