Seems like its really still too early for them to start giving out info about the game mechanics and such, but at least they seem to truly like the IP in itself, which is a pretty positive factor. I don't see how someone who likes and knows the WAR40K lore could fail at some proposals like the number of factions problem, for example.
So far so good, but I'll keep cautious.

Looking forward to this game, trailer looks appealing, and unlike some other game out there who releases awesome trailers with no real connection to the gameplay itself, this one delivered.
If they rape lore with the four races = two factions bs I wont give them a dime.
THQ has always been true to the lore in all the other Warhammer40k game that they have published (Dawn of War series, Dawn of War 2 and so on) Personally i don't think the game could be in any better hands.
From the trailer that they showed at E3, i think the game is shaping up nicely, though i'm unsure what chapters the space marines are coming from.... Chaos Marines were clearly World Eaters judging from their use of colors and Khorne Beserkers.
Hopefully we'll get some good news when they release more at Gamescom in august (check Vigil games' website)

Always a bad sign when an RvR game has just two factions. If all the game has is a strong IP I sort of doubt it will be enough for an mmorpg, mm fps might have been a better direction for this game I reckons.
"The most important part of 40k is the characters"...so they focussed on environments instead
Had a good chuckle at that bit.
Currently this game is on my maybe list until they ditch the stupid 2 faction only idea (worst idea ever for this lore) or show me that they can pull it off 100% flawlessly
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds -Solid non level based game -Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

I second this opinion
And thirded, this will be the key to this game for alot of reasons. I think we're all bored to death of two factions and ready to get back to one of the reasons DAoC was great.
Played in some form: UO til tram, AC, EQ, AO, WW2O, PS, SB, CoH, AC2, Hor, LoTRO, DDO, AoC, Aion, CO, STO Playing: WoW (for gf), WAR Waiting For: SWTOR, FFXVI Hoping For: DCUO, Secret World, Earthrise -S- (UO Sonoma)
So we 're sure this one will be an RPG in the sense that you will control / roleplay one character, and not a Strategy game in the sense that you will control multiple units?
"Traditionally, massively multiplier online games have been about three basic gameplay pillars combat, exploration and character progression. In Alganon, in addition to these we've added the fourth pillar to the equation: Copy & Paste."

Vigil Games has made it very clear in the PC Gamer interview that DMO will not be an RTS.
"PC Gamer: The gameplay for the tabletop game focuses on squad combat and tactics. How are you translating these elements to an MMO?
David Adams:To preface, let me say that this game will be an RPG. That needs to be said, because when someone thinks of a Warhammer 40,000 MMO there is definitely some question as to the style of play: will it be an FPS, an RTS, or some other genre altogether? Relic has the RTS angle covered with the awesome Dawn of War series - we are making an RPG.
However, that doesn’t mean that aspects of the tabletop don’t influence the style of play we present to the player. As I mentioned earlier, just the inclusion of ranged weapons as a dominant form of combat changes the basic underlying mechanics of a typical MMO. This leads to similar tactics that you might employ in the tabletop, such as cover, suppression fire, flanking, etc… If you think about it, “Group” is a just another way of saying “Squad”. "
Because flying a Minmatar ship is like going down a flight of stairs on an office chair while firing an Uzi.
You all complain about the 4 classes how do you think I feel, I am female I play either an Assassin or a Battlesister in Dark Heresy. So I will be happy if I just play a female version of one of the 4 classes.
This one looks cool I like that the war is so moble, battle mechs, Space Marines, etc... I love the graphics they Space Marines look right.

I agree I am tired of 2 faction pvp/rvr.
I had forgotten that Madureira was involved in this.
Looking at some of the characters' faces in the video, though, his style does seem to have influenced the art direction significantly.
