why do paladins/warlocks get free mounts.

I know this is a frequently dicussed topic, but why do paladins and warlocks get free mounts? I think that other classes should get free mounts too. Like hunters could go somewhere to tame a mount,and priests could get an all white horse or something like that. Or they could just lower the mount cost to 50 gold, its not easy grinding from 0 to 90 gold, unless youve been smart and saved up.

I think it is supposed to be just an aspect/advantage of playing those classes... Or a rip-off of EQ's AA horses for paladins and shadowknights.
My husband plays a warlock. He had just about saved up for a mount when I told him he didn't need to. I think it is just a matter of planning what you want to do with your cash. (Also, he seems to make quite a lot of money at leatherworking, fwiw...)

It's just another example that paladins are seriously overpowered. but I don't see wy the warlock should get free mounts as well. In my opinion mounths should be free for all races and classes at a certain level ( 30-40 ?). A mage, priest, druid,... have as much right to a free mounth as the paladin or warlock do. Hopefully ( but I'm not betting on it) , this is something they'll change in the future.
You forgot about the shamans that get a 40%travel form at the level 20 (only 20% slower than mounts at half the level needed for a mount) , druids get one at level 30 too.

Mounts are just part of the classes and i don't see the reason to change that. Mounts are considered a luxury when you hit 40. Saving 90 gold isn't something hard, and I've got my first mount when I was lvl 42.
These topics are really annoying with all the crybabies around. I consider class mount rather weak perk compared to other classes' travel abilities. Ghost wolf, travel form, aspect of the cheetah, teleport and portals are far superior to 90g saved.
I was commenting on the fact that I think every race shoul be able to have a free mount or no one. while some races might have certain spells to replace a mount, the mage for instans doesn't not. I hardly find it fair that a mage should save up so many gold to own it, while a paladin just has one for free.
and for the fact that I said that paladins are overpowered: are you so blind that you can't see the truth. they do a serious amount of meelee dmg, can wear good armor, has healing spells at the ready and powerfull buffs. the only thing they need know are offensive spells and then they're the best class in wow. what would happen then huh. every one would want to go pally ( now already 50% of all people on y server are paladins).
Do we play the same game? They have very poor damage for a reasons you listed - very high survivability. They can't chase anyone and their only escape method is limited to rather cheesy use of hearthstone and immunity shield. You may have a lot of trouble killing a pally but also someone must be a real retard to die from one - you can just run away and they can do nothing about it.
Actually the easiest and most popular class is of course rogue - newbies' choice for a reason. Paladins while being popular are the most boring class to play. But it seems many people want to sacrifice ability to kill anything for immortality.
Your lying or the paladin was afk. Seven levels ahead of any class would be hard to hit. A paladin, I'm guessing he was atleast 40s, probably was wearing plate. So each hit that did hit would probably throw damage in the 20s at him.
Was he fighting you naked and weaponless or were you lying? Don't be ashamed to say so...
On another note: What difference do mounts make anyway? Not much of any. You can get through the game without it. It will be difficult walking from point A to point B. It's not really helpful trying to catch someone on a mount. Unless you're level 60 and you have the good one.

While i appriciate you assuming that because you cant do something anyone else who does it must have cheated or be lying. And why would he be hard to hit? Ive killed mages 10 lvls above me with my rogue. My rogue if you want to fight him is lvl 39 on silver hand and his name is Zarlan. Anyway.
Well come on Nathrezim and you can ask my friend who character i was playing. He was fighintg me full on with his weps and everything he was 22 i was 15 it was at the red ridge docks (wherre you gett he hilarys necklace quest) i beat him with pure skill thanks very much.

Actually paladins are wearing bikini, if you've seen how some plate armor sets look on females...
What level were you when you actually fought the paladin 7 levels above you? Did you have help or did you solo him? What class are you? Was it in a group PvP situation where you just happened upon him and killed him before he got help?
He'd be hard to hit because he should be wearing plate mail and he should con you red and he should have a large block rate and his armor should abosrb most of your damage and you should have a large miss rate on stuff that cons you red. Same for NPCs that con you red, you cannot hardly hit them.
So he was wearing mail? What class were you? I meant no offence to you, by the way. It is just hard to do higher up. Especially when they actually have the skills that make a paladin a paladin. Blizzard has basically made the game to where if you don't have outside help, you cannot kill a level conning you red.
What skills do the paladin use against you? Must not have been that great of a paladin if he could beat by something, anything, 7 levels below him.
getting back on topic..
warlock has the ability to summon demons. This is their lore. The horse they call fits the lore perfectly. While you (and many) may not agree that a pally should get a freebie...most others i know are fine with warlocks having them. There is a reason and it fits with warlock's abilites.
What you're having a hard time getting 90 gold? Come on... if you know how to play the game, anyone can get 90 gold in 3-7 days once you reach Level 40.

Warlock and Paladin Epic mounts arent in game yet. This could be the reason why they get a free lvl 40 mount since thier end game class content isnt implemented yet. Just a guess.

As another Hunter I must ask. I understand why a warlock does but NOT a paladin and why can a Hunter who tames pets for a living that would throw their lives away NOT be able to ride his pet?? or ride any animal for that matter? I got my mount at level 40 via grind but still.. why not?

Paladins and Warlocks get free mounts for reasons of lore and becuase it's simply a class perk, so if you want a free mount, then play either of these classes.
As for Paladins being overpowered: that's just pure ignorance. Sure, these guys are meant to survive, but they're far from being killing machines. I say this as a Warlock who has taken many Paladins down with ease.

Cry more about this topic, PLEASE! I FUCKING BEG YOU. If you want a free mount, roll a pally or a warlock. Oh and to you lameasses claiming that Rogue is fotm or nub, you're obviously a noob yourself as rogues just don't do the same percentile damage at the higher levels what with almost every other class getting armour upgrades and whatnot. Play more, learn more, cry on forums less.
