Hello.

I have been playing MMO's for a long time now. I took about a two year break due to college and now looking for one to get into. Thing is I have been out of the loop for a bit and dont know what to try out.

Here are some things I like in a mmo and hope this helps out.

PvE content

I mostly do PvE. PvP is not really my cup of tea but do enjoy it every now and then. I like a mmo that not only has good end game content, but also mid level content as well. I dont mind level grinding or quest grinding.

Graphics

I dont really care about the graphics...just more for the gameplay

Community

I do like a game that has a active community to go to when you need help or want to do things.

Well there it is. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

LOTRO is the best PvE game I've ever played.

It has everything you asked for AND amazing graphics to boot.

Plus the community does fun things like  this.

There is no shortage of great games that meet those requirements.

Here are some short reviews regarding PvE content at mid levels and end. Hopefully that will give you enough to take a look and find out more.

Age of Conan – PvE and PvP servers – you can still PvP on a PvE server, but you choose to. There is a lot of content now, there have been several major additions since launch, you will easily outlevel content and lots of people roll alts to finish it. Big China theme expansion just came out.

Star Wars Galaxies – PvE content galore, planets and planets, all sorts of quests off the beaten path. Kinda easy to get sucked into group PvP if you join a guild (Player Associations), since there is, as you know if you saw the first 3 movies, a civil war afoot. Also, have some unique classes – crafter/traders and entertainers. A lot of end game collectors it seems - getting a different droid, a nicer house, weapons.

City of Heroes – Missions and task forces are many, alternate dimensions. Open zone missions and instances, giant group raids – think 50 people v. an alien ship. Player made missions. Giant monsters – and one swinging a hammer made out of a car. There are PvP zones, but they are totally optional. Big expansion coming in August. You will outlevel 90% of the content by max level BUT you can go back and do most major missions and it temporarily autolevels you down.

Fallen Earth – lots of PvE content, putting more PvP in over time, but still optional. Community is very helpful in chat, but grouping is a little hard. World is so big it just takes a long time to ride your horse or motorcycle to someplace and help people. They recently added very limited high speed travel. End game is factional conflict, which can be PvE or PvP.

    All these have active communities.

There are other good ones. But those are my thoughts.
