"Grind" is a player induced condition. you do not need to "grind" in APB, you are choosing to, just play and things will unlock. Much like other FPS titles.
Also, as i said before, the gear divide is tiny, there is no "i will always win" because of gear in this game, its a incorrect perception.

"Hello person posting on a site specifically for MMO's in a thread on a sub forum specifically for a particular game talking about meta features and making comparisons to other titles in the genre, and their meta features.
None of those games had a gear treadmill in them either. In a few of them you can pick up your opponent's weapon after you kill them. That's one of the reasons the repetition never really bothered me. But in APB, unless you are in a clan that hands out weapons and cars for free, you are going to be grinding and losing a lot of matches before you become 'competitive'. APB is unique and I wish it well, but the only RPG element in the game is the item rewards. Other than that, its just a Shooter. And compared to many modern Shooter games, it's severely lacking in my opinion. Add a fee to play on top of that and it's no sale.

You start with Long Range Semi Auto , after 2h i got smg and smg is great weapon for CQB till end game. SMG-Shotgun is style thing.New weapon are not really about straight advantage but more about tactical option .Like LMG is great for destroying cars etc or non-lethal enforces weapon.
If resistence it tough for you you can call for back up.
And iam old RPG p&p fan i live i denial, for me rpg framework comes from Warhammer FG 1ed and D&D not Diablo.

Turn Base Combat, Stats,EXP points do we realy want them? and not only in a context of APB.
P&P Role Master Had hit location you could puncture lung or cut hand. And It that was human who was doing math.There where rules for suffocation and starvation and black plague... Whot we get right now is game mechanic developed in times of 8 bits computers that did not evolved since then.Rogue (1980) and nothing new since then?

For a lot of MMO players, there needs to be a balanced middle ground. If you just play APB, without worrying about unlocks, it can feel like there's no point to it at all. Which can make it get boring exceptionally fast. As I said though, unless you like PvP enough to make up for it. Not just that you need to like PvP, that's a given, but you need to REALLY like it in APB. If you just like the shooting and driving gameplay, I suggest you try GTA4.
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.
I am asking in this forum because the forums are not working in APB. The latest news is early access to those who pre-order through Direct 2 Drive and Steam.
Fine I might preorder through one of em. I asked my local Gamestop what they knew about early game access. They said nothing. I told them take the minimum deposit and if they didnt include ya i will cancel. The retailers, humans people talk to for advice are told they have outgrown their use.
Might make sense. Gamestop here carries mostley console stuff. EA makes console stuff? Gamestop and all other store front retail outlets might be clogging the lines at EA. Is that why most their support site is down? can anyone reply to a question in forum?
Funny, Largest corps in the world keep trying yet they havn't succeeded. EA? cut my teeth on their dos games in 80, Love em but then I was probably the age who ever made this call is now. Best of Luck. Don;t blow it again. EA has shut down other mmo's because they didn't profit EA. They could have but.... maybe they didn't know how, if they didn't know, well then according to them know one could know. they called it something like sundowning. Sell Direct when your machine can handle it all. The contract with your new tool probably ends when that was predicted.
