What item shop?
As for VOIP, you can allways use Team speak, if you can aford the servers. Otherwise, it is not the end of the world. Stop it chickenlittle.
You will receive a short audio ad once every 3 hours. HOWEVER ads will only be heard when first entering a district.
So for example:
1) You start up the game and enter the social district.
2) You will hear a short audio ad.
3 You stay in social for 2 hours and then switch to an action district.
4) Upon entering the action district you will NOT hear an ad.
5) You play in the action district for 5 hours and do not hear any ads.
6) You exit the game.
7) You start up the game at a later time and enter a district.
8) You will hear a short audio ad.

I still haven't seen any item mall, the subscription fee is less than other MMO's and you have the option of only paying for the time you spend in the action district and the in game ads? You mean the ad that plays once every 3 hours and only when you change districts IF and ONLY IF you decide to use the in game Voice Chat?
Whats better is to turn off those ads..... it costs $1.......

i think the ads are just fine, the world where we are in this game is after all a _city_.. have you ever walked in a city that didnt have any ads in RL? i sure havent..

The game should be free..doenst have the content and longevity to have even one of those payment forms..but..it has 4..wow amazing..

Thats kinda silly thing to say, it has just about every map mode in any other FPS or TPS game. Some, even strung together in 6+ stage missions. Not to mention all the other modes of play.'
I mean, if its not your thing, thats cool. But lack of content? Did you expect dungeons and flying raid bosses?
I mean, show me a MMORPG that has more than the standard 8 or so quest types. The OP's post is doing you a great disservice, as hes is highly confused, it is possible to not pay a cent for this game. And its still cheaper them most games of its type.

APB is a different kind of game, it makes sense that they'll experiment with it to see what works and what doesn't as far as pricing goes. This will become a lot more common, it's still shocking to me subscriptions have stayed so static for so long. I've said many times that 15 bucks for the amount of entertainment I used to get from WoW was a rediculously good price.
Ads are nothing, we're bombarded by them 24/7. I see at least 2 adds while I'm writing this message, there might be more if I wasn't blocking most of the scripts on this website. Ignore them like you do everywhere else. Nothing I've seen for APB is in any way unreasonable yet, but I'm slightly dissappointed they broke the trend and didn't include a full free month with the box purchase, that was enough to cause me to hold out on a game I might otherwise have bought after the positive experience I had during the KTTC event.
When did gamers turn into such whiny babies that cry when they dont get what they think is the perfect game?Go make your own.Ive been gaming over 25 years and i dont think ive ever played 1 single video game i didnt get some enjoyment out of and play for a while at least.

Look at the way player customisation shop is set up.
Wait couple weeks.
Log in, and prepare for the premium items
Their way of handling in-game ads is in no way intrusive or abusive if it works as described.

All items in the marktplace are made and sold by players. All of them. TBH this is the best crafting system in any game.

The game is not made, or funded by EA, also this isn't the first MMO to use ads on top of a subscription, or hybrid model.
