Would this game be good for me?

Ok, im looking at this and a coupple other games. im an EKS, with E at 76%.
Heres my earlier post stating my preferences:

This has been a long-running search for me: I first encountered MMORPGs in Runescape, which of couse I realized is crap. At the house of one of my friends, I played CoH. CoH has the most fun battle system of any game I've played yet. Then, i bought horizions, which i really didn't like. After that, I tried Anarchy Online, but that wasn't too great, although the best thing i'd had yet. Time passed with nothing happening regarding this subject, until a thing happened. My friend, yes the same one, bought World of Warcraft. That game just rocked, it had a battle system that was almost as engaging and interactive as that of CoH, but without the price of no other content. Of course, it is class based, which i don't like, and it is fantasy-medival, another thing I don't like, but the fun factor outweighs it. I've also been seriously looking at the Matrix Online, but that has gotten some definite bad reviews.
Some things to base suggestions on:

- I like having battles be dynamic, so they require thought and strategy. No just click-and-walk-away type battles here, those are sooo boring and not even interactive.

- I like Sci-Fi or Post Apochalyptical, but will go with Fantasy if it is good. This is a reletively minor point, as compared to my opinions on battle systems, classes, and grinding.

- I like it when the world/storyline can be altered by players or groups of players (a big reason im considdering MxO (on a mostly unrelated note: Morpheous smilie ::::::09:::: ))

- Class-based systems are bad (except when the don't lock you in. The AO one doesn't lock you in.)

- I like the option of soloing or grouping

- grinding is a satanspawn.

- big faction vs faction battles are cool ::::::19::::

- i can invest 2 hrs or less per day. No everquest for me.

- I'm 14 years old and can only afford up to 20$ per month, 15$ or less would be preferable.

- I have dialup internet, but a decent computer (500$ Dell Dimension Desktop). Soon i'm gettin satelite though ::::::17::::

Ok people, give me some ideas. Please. I wan't MXO to be cool, but i know WoW already is; however there are other games out there I haven't investigated

And this one:

Just to make everything absolutley clear, I'm in this for fun. Granted, EVE or SWG may be fun, but some reviews say otherwise. Personally, I don't care about levels. I do kinda like achievement when it impacts the world - i.e. Player Built Cities, Clans, Storyline Impact - but my charicter's power/inventory getting better gives me very little to no satisfaction or enjoyment. However, in the case of SWG it was a staff review (which get outdated), and the thing that indicated unfun grinding in the case of EVE was people kept saying it required patience - which could just mean slow lvling times instead of boring, repetitive battles.

p.s. im not really into crafting

So i'm looking at this game. Please tell me if its right for me.

yes, this game is very much right up your ally. The faction fighting is awesome. you can switch inbetween classes whenever you want too, as long as your at a hardline. oh, but the grinding can turn you off. in order to hit 50 you have to play 6-8 hours a day for a year to hit it. sorry, no WoW leveling. however the combat is awesome. you have to press buttons just to do normal attacks, so walking away is a death wish.

in RFZ's mIRC channel they were talking about how much harder it is to level after beta. something like one million exp to level 10, with 1200 exp per mob. 40k per missions on hard.

    You'll love it.

The grind isn't bad. You have to realise, though, that "grinding" is all in teh player. You can kill mob after mob after mob and get bored, or you can go find something else to do. Personally, I like to kill a few outdoor mobs, run a few missions, then maybe craft something, and hang out at a club. Although you could always go to a dungeon, or hunt data nodes, or explore, take a train ride.....

Anyway....you might not like the lag on dial-up. But if you're getting somethng better soon, you might want to try it.

The combat system seems simplified at first, but once you get to know what you're doing, you realise that it's actually really intricate, and involves a lot of tactics and timing.

Character "classes"....well, I change mine several times daily at will :) Just find a hard-line and swap 'em out.

Hope this helps. It sounds like this is the game you're looking for...my tastes are very similar to yours and I can't get enough of this game.

If you want to be Sygmas Jr. in training you better stop swallowing all the bullshit you hear on RFZ. K? :P

RFZ is /not/ an official source of anything, they are just DJs okay? I can be a RFZ DJ and so can you its all speculation.

I like having battles be dynamic, so they require thought and strategy. No just click-and-walk-away type battles here, those are sooo boring and not even interactive.

This game introduces a new battle system to the MMO genre called the interlock system. It is a "dice roll" based system but still requires thought and strategy if you want to defeat your opponent. It IS possible to interlock and walk away, but you'll return to your monitor with a dead character unless you fight an NPC a lot lower of a lvl than you.

I like Sci-Fi or Post Apochalyptical, but will go with Fantasy if it is good. This is a reletively minor point, as compared to my opinions on battle systems, classes, and grinding.

Not much to comment on. It's the Matrix universe, and the devs did a good job (IMO) at bringing it to life.

I like it when the world/storyline can be altered by players or groups of players (a big reason im considdering MxO (on a mostly unrelated note: Morpheous smilie ::::::::09:::::: ))

The storyline is by far the main sail moving this game forward. There is a roleplaying team filling the shoes of all your favorite Matrix characters and will be walking around in the same world you play on. (I had the chance to walk in on the merovingians secret meeting with an exile faction..... and a few other instances....)

Class-based systems are bad (except when the don't lock you in. The AO one doesn't lock you in.)

Change your class at anytime in game. All you need is a hardline and your set. nuff said.

I like the option of soloing or grouping

It is possible to easily do both (although honestly you will lvl faster if grouped up).

    grinding is a satanspawn.

I agree lol, but unfortunately it is extremely difficult to eliminate the feeling of 'grinding' when playing most MMO's. MxO falls under this catagory as well, as you may have to either kill many mobs or do many missions to lvl up (This does NOT mean that it will prevent you from taking part in the storyline however).

big faction vs faction battles are cool ::::::::19::::::

Once the truce breaks down, war between the three orgnizations will take place. On a hostile server, it will be OvO (Organization vs Organization) and you can be attacked by any opposing org member after you reach lvl 16. In the non hostile servers you can opt to join in OvO. There are also the constructs which act as OvO battlefields outside the matrix.

i can invest 2 hrs or less per day. No everquest for me.

Depending on what your goals are for your character, I can't really say good or bad about this.

I'm 14 years old and can only afford up to 20$ per month, 15$ or less would be preferable.

    Monthly subscription = $14.99 USD

I have dialup internet, but a decent computer (500$ Dell Dimension Desktop). Soon i'm gettin satelite though ::::::::17::::::

The game is still playable with dialup, however you will realize how much more you may like the game after you get broadband. ::::39::

So in short, you may like this game but only you can decide that. ::::19:: If I were you I'd definately give it a try.
