Shadow Bane is a has Been Game!
Do not waste your money on it! It's Boring, is very drag on xp to fight other players.
1. Pvp Sucks because: The sever lags so badly you are locked up most of the time!
2. There is som much cheating there, you could never farm the money that has been duped in that game! And this makes it hard, Very hard for a noob to start out in this game!
3. No quests in this game! Nothing new ever in the way of quests! They don't know what a quests is there!
4. Packman is more interesting than this game.
5. Graphics are Terrible! And you got a lot of rubberbanding in the game.
6. Most players that have been there for some time now are just jerks and real game play does not exist any longer! I think over 50 percent of the players there now are UBI or WolfPack employees and their customer service is the worst I have ever seen in any game or store!
7. They charge 12.95 a month to play it and charge you on top of that for the game! They actually should be paying you to play there.
8. Packman is more interesting than this game! oh did I already say that.
ROFLMAO just a has been game trying to stay alive in a market that is putting it under. BTW: it's last release of oblivian is just that for the game sent it to oblivian LOL 
Scrap this game and don't waste your time or money here!

It's Pacman. Not 'Packman'. Get it right
1. Constant PvP at higher levels. Shadowbane is able to keep up with 100+ people in one area, while other mmo's on the market still struggle with that many players, years after there release. Lag is non-existant.
2. Cheaters are banned, there gold removed, as any other mmorpg. This isnt the first game to have dupes/exploites found in it. Gold isnt hard to come by. Go out, kill a disapline dropper, and sell/trade that rune. Dont farm, its a headake. PvP for gold (cus most droppers are constant fights).
3. Quests, who needs them? Id rather kill someone than "go to the town of whatever and take a letter to gabe in the town of overthere then go kill a dog and come back with his paw to bake at the bakers shop around the corner from als soapbox shop...". There IS one quest in shadowbane, and its needed to claim a "realm" that your nations city lays in. You upgrade your tree of life to rank 8 with resources (that you fight other nations over, daily) and it announces to the WHOLE WORLD your doing it. Then you go out and travel across the whole map to talk to 3 hermits. No summons, no traveling thru runegates, just old fashion "kill your way thru people trying to stop you" walking combat. Yes, people will try to stop you. You cant solo this quest.
4. Pacman doesnt run a nation, he just eats blue balls.
5. IMO - Shadowbanes graphics are better than even World of Warcrafts. No bright colors, no purple beetles to ride. Who cares about eye candy, I want PvP.
6. Im a jerk? I try to help people when I can. If you dont like someone, you can kill them. Pretty simple. You dont have to deal with "trammel" style combat restrictions where griefing is high. Helps keep costs down, you dont have to cry to a CCR about someone "kill stealing" and overflow there work, so when your really stuck your screwed and have to wait 12 hrs for help.
7. Its cheap compaired to these new eye-candy-only games. Pay to ride a pink beetle or pay to kill someone? or pay a CCR to deal with griefers for you... player justice is much more fun.

LOL This game sucks and if you think the graphics are great....your sick or your computer is sick. Get a new computer and take a look again at the newer games..duh they out class this game without even trying.
Like I said in 2 months the only people playing this game will be UBI Employees and DIE HARDS..lets not forget the wonderful people at Wolf Pack. They have to play to feel like gods. ROFLAMO
Like I said the PvP sucks becuase the server lags so badly it's a joke! Don't believe me go pay and play and then come back here and cry about the stupid graphics and the Lag on the servers. LOL go for it.
This guy must not be playing much! I just left that game and there are hardly any players left. 100 people to this guy means a really great game. LOL That is from the world! 100 people from all over the world including USA. 100 people on that server and it still lags so bad it's a joke!

No I dont work for ubi, I just play the BEST pvp game on the market. No other can even touch the depth of shadowbane.
I see 800 people on my server during primetime. Other servers are gaining population.

I agree handsdown with TooL and I play the game.Have since release.I've also played almost every other online MMORPG since UO (which I loved) Shadowbane has it's flaws and bugs and lag LIKE ANY OTHER ONLINE GAME!!!
If your looking to stroll through pretty meadows and watch the birdies or get married online surrounded by a bunch of your friends or if your just looking to create some toon online over weeks and months just to keep bashing the same old mobs all the while "Questing" your way to hero-ism by saving the land from King blah blah blah by deilvering that note to Mr. So and so....then this is NOT your game.
Why you say?? Because your stroll through the meadows might find you a bird if some hidden scout or assasin doesn't get ya,but then that bird you found might just be a druid flying over to drop his quake on you and send ya tunneling back to town.AND that marriage,well it would be pretty difficult to get any marrying done with 3 grps outside slaughtering your guards slowly working their way into your city to kill you and all those lovely friends muwahahaha And lastly the only "Quest" there is to be done is saving your own butt and that butt of the buddie next to you.
"Play to crush",the warning is right there....you click on it everytime you log in,it does not say "carebear enter here and live happily ever after" it says "Play to Crush!"
The game has been out like 2 years now and it still isn't dead! Get over it.It's only gotten better and no one who has actually PLAYED it would disagree with those simple facts. If you want a game that gets your blood pumping,makes your hands shake at times from the rush,is all about lvling fast,easy and getting into the killing asap and being able to make another toon when you want and have it rdy fast and easy too!! SO you can do what you actually want to do which is go rolling with your friends killing people or stakeing out towns...Try it
I've never regretted a single dime or minute spent on this game where I KNOW I've spent hundreds on all the others just to get bored of the same old lvl grind and non pvp enviroments.I don't wanna quest! Thats why I don't play D&D

This is a PLAYER controlled enviroment.So if there is lack of events or quests IMO it is the player bases fault because in a PLAYER controlled enviroment your supposed to create your own quests and events. Some guilds do try to do some fighting events and other could if they wanted or even thought about it. It certainly isn't against the game rules in any way.
And if you wanna start out,build your own city and solo alone then your screwed cause you need help to control and protect a city
You can gather 5 friends and do it or even 200+ if you wanted.Very few limits to what you could accomplish in this game.........but I don't have the time to do any of that cause I gotta find me some boys to kill lol

agree this game is great, but you don't need to lie about the graphics and lag. this game makes even loot camping interesting. for example:
Lord Nyax(SWG) sit and stare at the other campers, knowing whoever has the best weapon is gonna get the drop, and nobody else can do a thing about it. outdamage everyone else, and someone might whine to a CSR about how you KSed them, and possibly be believed, resulting in a ban
discipline droppers(SB) going for valkyr or runecaster? better bring a scout or some stealther might just loot your kill. going for commander or one of the track runes? better bring an army cuz you WILL find pvp there
KS, ninja loot, it's all legal, but you can always just roll the zone while you're waiting for the dropper. not to mention, discipline droppers ALWAYS drop what they're supposed to
not to mention avenging/defending your xp groups, hunting enemy groups, attacking/defending cities, whether to burn them down, or just for some good clean fun. no consent checks, procedures and processes to "go pk", sitting around in Coronet/Undead city/Plane of WHATEVER. this is THE pvp game, and everyone who signs up knows it

LoL, what are you smoking. SB ghraphics sucked when I played it quit a year ago. I remember walking up to cities with the city wall on a corner hill coming out from the hill & I could see up into the wall. Oh & did you forget the cut & paste moon on RoC island?
Who cares about the moon? This game isnt about the moon... other than the "sun" used to be a moon before the dragon set it on fire... after it created the Irekei..
Same "empty" graphics are used in many game engines. If you happen to get "ouside" the graphics boundarys you will see this. There isnt dirt in that cave wall, just emptyness. Why if you fall thru a crack in DAoC do you get a swimming sound? hummm... and they claim to be the "best" mmorpg gfx system...
Its better to see inside a wall than to have that wall block your view when your trying to kill someone near it.

Shadowbane is quite possibly the best PvP mmorpg out there. Unfortunately the lag is so horrible you can't enjoy it.
Played for two years, and finally gave up because I was tired of rubber banding across the screen.

Shadowbane has massive lag spikes, a multitude of pvp exploits and some other problems...but despite it's flaws it is STILL and has ALWAYS been the best pvp game on the market, but the game is dieing. Between the 3 production servers and test there are a total of about 1200 players on during primetime hours.
If SB2 is ever made...and is created without all the bugs, the game will bring back a lot of players.
why even pay, just get the free trial from here. but give it more then a day, get of the island first, experience the game. and lag? don't talk about lag to me, i've played WoW at peak hours, just try walking into underforge. or try doing a raid in eq2 on any setting above the lowest, on any comp besides the most expensive rig. lag is inherent in an MMO of any type, and from my experience, with what SB gives you the lag really isn't that bad.
