Will Personalization ever get very real?

So the basics are there. Hair color, height weight etc.

But I'm talking about so good, it looks exactly like you and you can change it at anytime.

For example if i make a character and then a week later get a scar. I can add a scar to my character.

Example any tattoo you want. So if i have a tattoo of a cheetah with a hawks head and a fire tail with water being poured on it. I can have it?

It seems that no game has that good of personalization and i dont think that good will ever exist.

I think APB would blow your mind then, because from whay I heard, you may even be able to enter gif/jpg's to make customizable tattoo skins at some point (not in currently I take it). The other options seem amazing as is though.

Well there's really nowhere to go but up as the programming gets better.

    At least, I hope so.

Personalization will get real when we'll reach this

I guess by the time we reach it I'm gonna play an old fart as a character though

This ^  lol........ my toon looks exactly like I do irl. Not only that but I have custom tats and clothes that I just would never be able to do in any other game. My Fav right now is my Futurama Shirt. Has Benders face on the front and over top says Futurama. On the back it has Benders face face again and says Kiss my shiny metal @ss but uncensored :)

I'm going to make the "Make 7 ............... UP yours" shirt next.  But yeah, your toon can look pretty much however you want, so can your clothes (You can even choose to tuck your shirt in or leave it out lol) and your car can look however you want. You can even customize the sounds on some of your cars (Like engine, siren, radio quality and having more bass etc.).

For myself, I never make my characters look like me irl. Even though I've never RP'd in an MMO, I almost always "make up" my character and their background. Of course, I have done a lot of tabletop RPGs, so that's probably why...

I like the idea of uploading your own images for tattoos, though. I'm always for more customization. I hate when there are only really limited options for hairstyles, etc.

The problem with the tattoo part is that it sounds like you are talking about user created content. The biggest hurdle there isn't tech but rather some way to efficiently filter for, among many other things, penises and swastikas.

There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

I agree. Thats why i usually end up playing many different characters, I enjoy role playing different personalities.

My main though, usually looks like me, I just find it irresistable to make a character that looks like me in a game that actually allows for that level of customization
