Give me your choice of best RPG or MMORPG games

please mention also the system(PS3, XBOX360, PC,...) and if it is pay to play or not:)

    Best RPG: KOTOR.  Best MMORPG none. All mmo's have there ups and downs.  If your asking for my opinion I'd have to say Auto Assault. LOL

    Best RPG: Ultima series (except 9)

    Best MMO: DAoC before it got crapped up.

    I started with the originial Ultima which was bad. But ultima II was something so different. The game was the first that brought you into a story, you had a great quest to complete, and the packaging with a CLOTH map that you were forced to constantly look at. Ultima 3 took it a step further just by sheer size, then came U-4. A game where you had to think about choices to make, humans were not simple machines, but complex individuals that had substance to them, made up of 8 different characteristic traits. For the time, the graphics were impressive, a great story in a fantasy setting. The only game that even came close was Wizardry and that was nothing. The later Ultimas were ok, not as good as the U2-3-4

    Best RPG: Dragon Age

    Best MMORPG: Lets have a good one first, picking the best from a pool of bads is pointless. Its like a kid failing a class at 30% but being the best... he's still a failure.

    One word. Final Fantasy. :D Its one word for some, trust me. ;p

    Seriously though, I loved the Final Fantasy series up to FFXI. After that, nah. 12 and 13 are just horrible.

    So that gives you some RPGs and an MMO. Across PC, PS1, PS2, PS3, Nintendo DS, PSP, etc.

    I agree with elocke. By far, the best one in the series is Final Fantasy Tactics. It's on PS1 and PSP. Just sharing an opinion.image

    Hmm Dragon Age I haven't played but I heard alot of good things about it:)

    For me, it was FF 8. But I was going through a rough time, divorce and all that and that game just in a way comforted me. Silly I know, but there you have it. Next would be FF 7 then FF 3(which is actually FF6 now).

    Also a GREAT game(s) is Kingdom Hearts. I still get the urge to play that one every now and again and wish they would make a Kingdom Hearts 3 for PS3. It's more of an Action RPG though, but still has that great FF feel to it. If you like Disney movies, it's even better.

    Best RPG Baulders Gate 2, although playing Dragon Age right now and I really like it, best MMoRPG currently would have to be either AoC or Fallen Earth.... but best of all time would be DAoC pre frontier change and Everquest thru its first 2 expansions.

    i gotta say FF7 was the best of the old series. but my new love is Dragon age:Origins

    and for mmo's it all depends on what you like i don't have a favorite right now i'm between mmo's lol

    There are so many great RPGs. The one that keeps coming to mind when trying to pick a favorite would have to be Fallout 3. I always end up coming back to that one no matter how many other games I play.

     

    For MMORPG, I'd have to say World of Warcraft, even though it has changed for the worse in my opinion.
