General: CCP Establishes Newcastle Studio, Will Work on DUST 514

CCP Games has announced the opening of a new development studio today. CCP Newcastle, located in Newcastle, UK, will serve as a console-focused development studio for the growing company, and more specifically will collaborate with CCP Shanghai on the upcoming console FPS crossover to EVE Online, DUST 514.

Just a pity that DUST 514 is such a failboat, only being for consoles; 'cause I'm sure as hell not playing an FPS on anything other than a PC. Bah! >:(

I'm with myrathi. Could never aim or turn fast or accurate enough in an 3rd/FPS without a mouse. Annoys me to no end.

I read that as 'CCP has founded a westernization team for their Chinese developed MMOFPS in Newcastle'.
Take that with a pinch of salt people, but in any case I am glad Dust got a western development team as well. This is a good thing.

DUST 514 does look like fun. Lets see how it ties into EvE.
They are trying to escape from Iceland before it completely sinks into the ocean (or total financial obliteration).

You shouldn't really hold that against it, given how Dust is clearly aimed towards a different group of players, ones who will fulfill the role of "grunts" for their EvE Online employers. It's just a different approach, you don't have to like both to enjoy it them.
Why would they move to Byker Grove ?? !
