Back in November I bought and played both WoW and EQ2, cancelled EQ2 because WoW was quite simply more fun to play in my opinion. As of late, I'm beginning to wonder. While I still greatly enjoy World of Warcraft, when the servers are up... I'm getting a bit fed up with the substandard Customer service or lack thereof and the horrible almost non existant communication from Blizzard about the problems they are having with server downtime, crashes and general instability of the game.
The game has been out for 4 months as of today and frankly I am surprised they are still having this many problems. All other Blizzard games I own are outstanding and rock solid. I 've been being patient and giving them a chance, but geez this is way past rediculous. I'm gonna give em a little more time, but if they don't get their collective .... together soon I'm going to move to a game that I can actually log into and play for more than a few hours a week when the servers are up and stable.
I hope someone from Blizzards dev community actually reads other forums because they are falling down on the job bigtime. When I can play WoW is a blast, but I'm sick to death of all this downtime it's frankly BS.

Sorry if I sound a bit rash but.........you telling us this does what? Does your 14.95 a month carry the clot of 1/2 a million players? No? Are you the CEO of Blizzard and will shut down the game if they don't fix the problem soon? No? Then what good is you rant? Nothing more than a attempt to rally some sort of support behind your bruised ego because you feel duped. Hey do yourself a favor now man and cancel.
WoW is a very good game compared to all the other mmo's out there and the proof is in your own statements. And the best thing about it is it's up to you if you wanna continue to deal with it or not.....not Blizzard.

When people post these, it just looks like they are craving for a reason not to like the game. Some down time and everyone wants to cry. You should be happy the patches are getting the game to be better and they are also lowering on the downtime required for maintenance and such.
Suck it up and deal like everyone else. It isn't like you're the only one dealing with the downtime and your the only one sending in their $14 a month. In my opinion, this is good for a first time MMO producing company. They are doing far better than I expected them to. Even if they did worse, playing the game is awesome and I could learn to deal with the downtime.
I'm venting because it makes me feel better, since obviously I cant vent like this in Blizzards forums because the post will get locked or the login servers are down yet again. I'm posting my opinion and it's my right to do so. Why is it that if someone complains about substandard customer service or complains that when a game that has been out for 4 months and is buggier than it was in beta is told they're a whiner or a carebear. etc... etc... It's garbage, and frankly while WoW is a good game when it's running the point is I shouldn't have to "whine" that they can't keep the servers up and have non existant customer service.
These Game publishing house's like Vivendi Universal for example , pushing games out the door that are buggy and not ready for prime time is rubbish. I like World of Warcraft when I can play it. It juast seems to me that the longer a games out the more stable it should get , not the opposite........
The best Customer service I've ever seen in an online game was in City of Heroes. They kept the customers up to date on whats going on with bugs, they actually listened to players likes/dislikes and SURPRISE ! when they found a bug they fixed it pretty damn fast and acknowledeged it instead of saying were "looking" into it like Blizz does. Unfortunately for me CoH was only fun till about lvl 20.
That's my 2 cents......

FYI if you wanna rant without reprimand....buy a diary or better yet create a personal web blog. Seriously like I said didn't mean to pinch a nerve but come to a semi-public forum about a game many ppl enjoy playing and you're bound to meet some resistance....or did you know that?
Anyway, you can rant until you are blue in the face, still won't do any good if you're the only one paddling in the wrong direction.....

1 word - fanboi. These fools that attack anyone who says anything negative about blizzard or WoW. Your just being honest but they can't respect that.
I don't see your post as a reason to hate WoW, I see your post as a reason to be frustrated and you have every right to be. I tried this game in beta and wsan't impressed, my brother and law bought a copy of it and I figured since I could bum his account and try it again for free why not? So I installed it tonight played for 30 minutes and got booted off and now I can't get back in.
I'm not losing anything since I'm not paying for it, but those of you that are and have legitimate concerns about how your money is being spent I feel for you. Especially when you try to voice those concerns in the immature WoW community. I fully expect my post to get flamed, then again, what do I care what a 16 year old douche bag thinks of me? or a 32 year old still living with his mom for that matter.
Just a word of advice, ignore the fanboi's they bring nothing contructive to the table and most of the time make no sense.. Like someone earlier said suck it up, quit whining about a little down time? That all WoW is, is down time it seems from what I read and what I'm experiencing so far.
Realize that most of the fanboi's are using their daddy's credit card and have zero concept of a budget or responsible spending. 15 bucks a month for something that is broken, makes little sense to most adults, but since the kiddies aren't paying they can afford to say "Suck it up and deal with it".

Only from immature little bastards like yourself. WoW ain't a bad game, to bad the community makes it look less appealing. Do you guys even read your own posts? Do you realize how ridiculous you sounds? Grow up and let the man speak. It's not like he's bashing WoW he's frustrated at the downtime. Cut him some slack. Some of you seem to think it's useless for him to rant, then why do you care so much if you think is post is useless? You obviously care enough to reply. Or is it that you can't resist to burn someone down who is opposed to your view?
Anyone with a brain cell can figure out the answer to that last question

Kangg, im with you all the way my brother.
WTFOMGBBQ hAX my hunter is teh suck. please give me a tissue, err maybe a whole box, cause im going to cry forever untill my hunter sucks less.
I like WoW alot, but i am going to "cancel" my accoutn for a month or two. This doesn't delete your characters, so you know. Why am i doing this? because for as much as i like the game play its self the support and stability are seriously lacking.
In the time i am cancelled i am going to be playing a few free trial periods i overlooked before, might find somethign i prefer, might not. Either way i am certain the issues hurting WoW now will be lessened, and that gameplay will be improved over what i already enjoy.
Their are lots of ups and downs buying a release game, you have to be willing to accept that fact, or buy 6 months later.
It is realy a sad day. WOW can no longer hold its mebers, Several of us have canceld our accounts due gameplay issues.
While we are suffering with Lag, Mail not working, Auction house is unusalble at times. Long time to log in and the pure fact of server reboots and kicks, Blizzaard contues to make new feature and working on honor points and battle grounds.
Blizzard need to fix the issues or the game will suffer (granted, slow) panful death, Just like DAOC is doing now since TOA.
I knew this girl that would rant in her weblog about FFXI (she was in my linkshell on FFXI) and one of her posts were about how she literally had a nervous breakdown and cried because someone in her guild was a big jerk. People urged her to cancel, saying she was too obssessed and she was so addicted she would start ranting about how people called her addicted. Then one day, she wasnt in the guild, and it turned out her parents (she was in her early twenties, I'm sure she didnt live with them) came and made her go to AA, hoping she could use the message there torwards FFXI. It was probably the most goddamn funniest weblog ever.
Addicts. Heh.
Edit: I know this post seemed random but it made me think of the story when you said "Rant about WoW in a personal weblog"
Now who's flaming who? Never called anyone out their name....I did 't even curse at him, but you feel obligated to call me a fanboi, immature, bastard? When I see countless post after post of the SAME mindless dribble I get numb from having it bashed over my head so much. When will it end? Only when the persons responsible can do that....namely Blizzard.
Not some self-centered teenager who wants to be heard or the self-proclaimed Captain-Save-A-Hoe hero unlike yourself who flames anyone who challenges his arrogance. To me you're nothing more than a bottom feeder looking to make a name for himself. Like pathetic ambulance chasers looking to make it seem like it's everyone against him.......
Last time I checked we are all experiencing the SAME problems. It's just some of us have learned to fight or flee...too bad you and this guy can't cuddle together and make it seem like it's gonna be alright.

Yeah well there's a real simple solution... Don't read the damn post.. You can get the gist of someone's frustration with in the first sentence or two.. So don't bitch about someone's post just because you don't want to read it.. Who gives a crap, hit the back button and move on to the next post.
I don't cuddle with d00ds ..... well there was that one... No I don't cuddle with dudes!

Agreed tho; City of Heroes customer support > all.
Yeah they are having problems. But I wouldn't consider it poor customer service, just an overwhelming amount of customer demand. They severely underestimated the popularity of the game. I read an interview from one of the company team leads or vp's or something, recounting their night they unveiled the game at Fry's Electronics. The guy as he was arriving was astonished as to how many people showed up. He saw a mass of people and just was baffled at what they might all be doing there... then he realized it was for their launch party.
I myself tried to go to that launch party, I was shocked to see how many people showed up. There had to be 4000-5000 people there. I expected to be able to show up 15 minutes before the start and still get a copy of the game, maybe chat breifly with a few of the designers.... Instead, I couldn't even find a parking spot within 2 city blocks of the place. The line alone to get the game was at least a city block long.
Go into your favorite restaurant. If 4 times the normal amount of people show up on any given night, chances are you're going to be unhappy with your service. You can't get your food or get a table, the waiters and waitresses are running around like mad, but they still can't get you the service you expect. They can bust their butts but they just can't do enough to keep everyone happy.
Same situation here. Blizzard just didn't realize how popular WoW would be. You can either complain about their not realizing, be patient while they try to get to everyone's issues, or go try to get another table at another restaurant - but nothing you can say will help them get more customer service reps trained immediately so they can service everyone. Hiring and training people just doesn't happen that fast. Just a simple supply and demand problem. Personally, I like the food here and am willing to wait a little longer for it. Not everyone is like that.
City of Heroes btw had it easy. Granted they are doing a good job, but the game didn't have the legions of fans foaming at the mouth to get in the game either. Again, to use the restaurant analogy, you walked into a restaurant and you had your own personal waiter waiting only on you.

I don't believe Blizzard was risking everything, when they decided that they wanted to make a MMORPG. As it stands now, the market for MMORPG is growing in great number. It's not hard to know that Blizzard is favored by so many fans. So, why not? SquareEnix made a big leap and made FFXI into a MMORPG instead of a regular single-player RPG. And guess what? People loved it for what it is and is holding strong at 500,000+ subscribers. They even never had any of their games used servers, but managed to pull it off.
Now, when the market was hot, Blizzard went with it. The decision with the go ahead wasn't that hard to make, because the time was right.
Time past and Blizzard was in the final stages of completing WoW and started open beta. Everyone was excited. Thousands upon hundred of thousands of people, raced to join the testing of the game that they have been waiting on for so long. Servers were packed and people were praising. Many had proclaim that WoW was going to be a huge success..... and they were right.
Opening day of WoW release marked a milestone in MMORPG history. In a few days, the copies of WoW was flying off the shelves. Servers started to climb to the top of its peak. People was on the edge of their sits...
Then the unthinkable happen. No one had never thought something like this would ever happen to a MMORPG like WoW, but it did........queues lines. People rage on the general forum, shouting out in fear wondering what was happening. Then the staffs of Blizzard that was working with WoW, came out and said the servers were over loaded.
And this is where I'm ending my story, because as time goes on... the servers will continue to be over loaded and uncontrollable.
This is what happen and the way it will continue, in my opinion, will lead into a long, unsatisfied outcome.
Just to give you some fact, I played WoW for about two months and really enjoyed it. I didn't go ape over the queue lines, but the breaking point was the problems with the servers. I quit and never looked back.
And I hope you guys take in consider that I'm stating what I feel about on this subject and not trying to trade curse words between one another..... I'm not that kind of person.
The latest patch fixed most of the problems with servers it seems. At least on ym server (Magtheridon). Mail is working fine with RARE 20-30 second lag spikes. AH works fine, server didnt crash whole day (good friday, when a lot of people play).
I understand your frustration, perhaps your server isnt as stable as mine. Here is my advice - switch to another server. There is another bonus to this, your main char gets rest exp, and you never know, maybe this class will be soo coool you will forget about your main whatsoever. Thats what i did, made a hunter and now im so into this class that i left my level 47 rogue with rest exp maxed out hehe.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

From where I'm standing, you're all a bunch of whiners, why don't you all go start a campaign, go for president?! Man I'm a ''16 year old douche bag'' ''using his father's credit card'', but at least I have fun I don't care about down times. I have such a thing called a ''life'' wich makes it possible to do other things instead of play MMORPG's all day long. (well actually I dropped out of school and I'm sitting home all day)
The point of my post? not any, Im just bored
FINALLY someone says it!
Just deal with it buddy. You act as if they are only doing it to you because they don't like you or something. Your not the only one who gets the downtime.
Besides, dont you play any other game? I mean, WoW is one of the best games out there, but you need to take a break from it once in a while.
In other words, no matter how bad Blizzard treats us, the sicko-fans, we will only ask for more and continue paying 15 dollars a month.
Don't you know d00d, Blizzard is G0d.
every game is going to have forums sir
