Dura loss is way too high after patch

Agricola1Agricola1 Member UncommonPosts: 4,977

Well I'm using axes and it's just a bit high for me to be able to kill stuff and buy skill books whilst replacing weapons. On one 2h axe it is a .3 dura loss per hit so on a weapon with 100 dura that's 333 hits. I can kill 166 pigs with that, yeah they aren't the most profitable thing to kill but I'm a scared bitch that doesn't like venturing out too far at this stage due to nasty reds.

Yeah I can make a profit but I'm feeling shitty about replacing gear after having it so easy. I'm hoping that the ingame economy will compensate with cheaper weapons but with depletable nodes being added I can't see weapon prices dropping but only rising.

I say they need to drop the dura loss atleast for fighting NPCs, I can manage myself but it's gonna be hard times for some. What are your thoughts on this?

I think the durability loss could use some lesenning for sure. I think it was a little bit too easy before, but they have gone too far the other direction. Somewhere in between would be perfect...

I agree with both of the above.  Durability loss before the patch wasn't too bad - perhaps just a bit lighter than it should have been.  I think they've made it too heavy as it stands now, though.  Something in between, or perhaps a little closer to the original, would be better.

I'm sure there's going to be a lot of tweaks and adjusting of values ahead, as they try to strike the right balance that keeps the economy going.

I do like that fact that current durability appears to impact the effectiveness of items as well.

Agreed.  Looks like we whined loud enough though, it looks like they're gonna boost dura quite a bit  (and increase resources in nodes, since those emptied much quicker than you'd expect) today hopefully.

Sweet, nice to see SV are tackling these things head on and have their finger on the pulse of the playerbase.

Indeed, it's good to see they are being responsive in balancing the game.

As I said above, I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of values tweaked in the game over time as they try to maintain a good balance and economy.

I think once more people have houses up and are making them into metal factories and armories, depletable nodes wont be as much of an issue as it is this patch. Right now all of the appliances are in towns so the only nodes being used are the ones closest to town.

If you place a house in the correct area then the resources surrounding it are normally higher yeild and less used. Not to mention they added the ability to increase yeild based on your material lores.

I'm happy I made my refiner/house construction toon also be my miner as I have all of the petrology lores.

I was man, then everyone on the server started nut cupping and after 3 months of doing pve/crafting/gathering waiting for a half decent siege that wasn't a 20 second washout I gave up and got MO.

The most fun I've ever had in an MMORPG was in Darkfall to be sure, but then the element that made it fun disappeared and I paid for 3 months waiting for it to come back but it didn't so here I am getting pwned in MO and loving every moment.

What can I say? Unless the devs put features in to prevent it human nature will shit on everything :(
