I am preparing to buy a new computer and I would like to build it so that I can play with the recommended requirements for FFXIV. I've been looking, quite fast, on the FFXIV website to find that information but I seriously can't find it anywhere... Anyone who has that information would be great!?!?!
Thank you!

Ah, recommended? There's only minimum settings afaik.
Good processor, Radeon HD5770 and 4gb of memory and you're good to go!
alright thx and I did go in game info but I didnt see you could scroll down!!! lol
Thank you
Hyanman.....
5770 that much better than 4890??
IM thinking of an upgarde, maybe 5850... because the 5870 is way too expensive.
I have ...
AMD Phenom II X3 710 Processor (2.6 GHz)
8 GB Kingston HyperX Ram @ 1066
Ati Radeon 4890 (1gb)
1 Terabit Hardrive
Windows 7 (64 bit)
I'm getting 2400 on High Rez and 3800 on Low Rez...
How much of a performance increase do you think I'll see if I only upgarde my GPU to a Ati 5850 from the 4890?
Will my High Rez score be above 3500?
there is almost no difference between the 4890HD and the 5850HD perfomance wise, might be a 5-10% increase... its really not worth the money, if ur going to upgrade rather save for a 5870 or wait until the 5890 comes...
If you can read this please, i beg you please! 01000111 01100101 01110100 00100000 01101100 01100001 01101001 01100100 00101100 00100000 01100100 01110101 01100100 01100101 00101110 00101110 00101110
The graphs posted by members show 5850 member averaging anywhere from 3200 - 3900 on High Rez benchmarks.
The 4890's are showing 2300-2600 High Rez scores....
It seems to make a big difference in terms of the benchmark...... So i'm not sure.
If its any help im getting just over 4,500 on a ATI 5850
System spec is
Win 7 64bit
Intel Q6600 (@3.3ghz)
ATI 5850 (@ 1200/1000)
4GB DDR2 (@900Mhz)

Yeah, that looks about right.
My 5770 got 2400~ on high. So if 5850 is better than 5770, and 4890 is about on par with 5770 you should notice a clear difference.
So, based on my other components, do you think I can get 3500+ on high rez with 5850, or is my processor too slow?
Well, if you get 3800 on low res with your current settings (low res is more dependant on processor power), I think you could achieve those numbers with 5850.
But I'm not really too great of an expert with these things. It could go either way, really. Hard to say.
Or just make a post on the forums I linked. It's a harsh forum but at least you'll get your answers. There's few guys over there that know a lot about these things.
