True, but you can bet your ass that I'd swap to the goggle before a boss dies, or the helm if I was bound to die. Anyone who played FFXI will remember the haunting sound of "LvL down", and I would basically do anything I can to never hear it again.
Buy/craft new gear, get a exp party. Go out, bad pulls, bad tank, die. Delevel. Can't put gear back on. Hehe.. good times.
Lower level zones in games are USUALLY the best flushed out areas around. They usually give the best quests with plenty of lore, clues, and majority work great. The areas are first priotiry as this is the part new players see when they boot up so it's very polished even having hidden parts sometimes to find.
For an example of this I think of Tortage in AoC. That place was fantastic and I ended up taking all the toons through it. Then I had my toon around level 50 and was like.. "where'd the game go??" Went back to the other lands and played those early quests and had just as much fun.
I don't like to speed to endgame and miss all that. Usually endgame is a bunch of waiting around for new content. FFXI was pretty much the same until TAU and the other expansions came out so I'd not want to do that speed leveling.
I find it funny how in Square Enix MMO you can only have 1 playable character. And if you want more, you need to pay 3$+ each month lol..
Why do you find it funny? You do know you can be all classes on one character right?
What if you want one of each race?
Pay for it if you want to that much. When you can play every class on one character I don't see the point personally. I only picked different races on alts in other games for the sake of it.

You would probably never reach level cap/endgame/or decking out a character if you played that many different characters. The last FF online was a whole lot different from other MMOs, you really need to work in order to get to the cap. I would of never even considered leveling multiple characters, way to much dedication was needed. (and I had 6 80s in WoW and 4 70s which equalled one decked out level 75 job in FFXI for me)
I like how this system works though, it forces people to be polite to each other (since usually you won't have more than one character doing end game and your reputation means everything). It helps curve all the ninjaing that goes on in MMO endgames, etc. It is also nice not having to rebuy/reraid gear since your toon can use some of it on multiple classes.

Was kind of planning on playing different races and classes in the early levels just to see which I liked better then take that one to end game. Now I know I dont have to choose a class, but that does still leave me with the racial choice. How do I know which I like better if I dont play each of them? I suppose I could pay $25 a month till I choose then delete the ones I dont like. Unless you think the races wont be different enough to even matter. That would be kind of sad.

The first month is free... I don't know if that applies to additional characters, but you could make 3 of them and still only pay 9 bucks for that month. Should be plenty to find out which you like the best.
Using LOL is like saying "my argument sucks but I still want to disagree".

"TO MICHAEL!"

Then you have the choice to make them.
What if I want to play all classes on a single character in any other MMO? I don't even have the choice.
It's bullshit, almost as much as "lore limitations" a.k.a "you can not be race X class Y because God X said so."
