I woke up thinking about this today. Don't post much around here but thought I would today. Rules are simple:
You can share an entire concept, or a piece of a MMO concept, such as end game, exploration, char gen, etc.. The point here is to have fun and show off your ideas. Who knows, your idea might even be picked up by a Dev team. If it is, all I ask is that credit be given where credit is due.
Enjoy.

Title: Immortals and Men
Concept: End game
Origin: I used to MUD at lot, back in my college days (before Everquest 1 - yes I'm showing my age). Back then, MUDs came in only a few flavors, and most began your adventuring career in a little city called Midgaard. Back then, the point of the game was simple - kill things and level up until you became Immortal. This idea is a bit of a back to the basics idea. now I know a lot of you old schoolers are shaking your heads already but read through the "entire" idea before commenting.
Idea: So the Idea begins when you reach your maximum level. No game company wants a bunch of gamers fiddling around with the administrative mechancs of their game, potentialy causing mayhem with their community. This idea incorporates becoming an Immortal into the actual "gameplay mechanics" of the game, instead of using it as an administrative function as most MUDs did back in the day.
Becoming Immortal provides a player with certain priviledges. They are invisible to normal players, and can teleport to part of the normal game environment. At this level in their career, they cannot effect change though, unless a normal player "prays" for assistence. The PRAY command will allow 1 Immortal that is aligned to that players neutrality to assist with a battle. Now, I haven't defined the type of assistence. It could be limited to a Blessing spell, or go all the way down to a SLAY command on the NPC. Each player can only PRAY once per day. Now, some balance would have to be worked into the system to keep players from abusing this on high level monsters.
All standard fare so far, but here's where it gets fun: First of all, Immortals that aren't aligned with a player CAN effect change. If an Immortal sees a non-aligned player hacking away at an NPC for example, that Immortal could "interfere" with his fight, by buffing the NPC somewhat. Doing this, however, will alert non-aligned Immortals who can come to counter buff their Player followers. In this way, Immortals fight each other by influencing Players and NPCs.
Lastly, and here's a fun kink for everyone: Immortals can be struck down, and either be made Mortal again, or be turned into an agent of the Underworld. Call it an Ant-Immortal (I haven't thought up a good name here), but they should be the antithesis of the Immortal players, their diametric oposites in every way. These anti-immortals have the ability to sow chaos on the land, to literally cause random, unforseen events to transpire among the normal player world. They can also directly attack Immortals (and can be fought back), and their realms can be invaded for powerful artifacts, that sometimes, if lost, make their way to the Mortal world to be used by mortal players.
So there's my End Game idea. Not perfectly developed, but I think a solid start. Hope you enjoy it.
Alright.

There's tons more if I was going to consider listing features from by various catalog of concepts as well. There are game concepts, in full, that are explained in deep detail. It's pretty much in order of my first to last, and you can pretty much see the progression I've gone through as I kept practicing.
(I in no way expect anyone to read any of it though, way too much to handle)

Blood And Cold
Action/fantasy mmorpg.
I thought of a cold world with ninjas and blood, big ugly monsters, plants and ice crystal cities. The world is inside of a planet, think it as if we lived inside of earth, the metal was on the outside and we were drawn to the metal so we could walk like normal, but we saw land above us. The monsters came from the outside,"gods" or something sent them down to us and wouldnt let us be alone, the world had no leader it was corrupt and free. People have always wanted to come to the outside and see how it looked like,to see if these "gods" really existed .
The game has no classes, but you can train at an academy or learn abillities of enemies or allies. You can make your own skills,to a grade so it wont be overpowered,it will be fast paced combat and you have to be skilled to win a battle. Weapons and armoured can be crafted or bought, enemies can just drop recources so you can make the items you need for battle.
Monsters will come out of holes from the outside, random monsters anywhere at any time. There will be dungeons and alot of places to discover, some places need a key, maybe a crystal with magic that unlocks a barrier to a temple that no one has been in for ages. There is a way to reach the outside,if a player find that way to reach the outside. Maybe the "gods" decides to lock the passage to the outside and then the players need to find another way out and battle them or maybe these "gods" are friendly that tries to protect you from another evil.
A big Grutchlick appears on the field, players run towards it,they climb up on his back, some climb up on his legs and start cutting his eyes to blind him or cut his neck or use magic to destroy this enormous monster.

The Rise of Empires
Brief description of the origin of your idea. 1-2 sentances.
My brain, i just used the pro's and con's of any game i played not really any particular source.
Keep it simple. 3-5 paragraphs or less to describe your idea.
Basically we're talking about a full persistant world settled in the Roman era (i just love it) with a little bit of fantasy into it based on roman religion. The Crafting will no longer be a secundary attribute but primary IF you decide to become a crafter . Any player can chose to have a primary proffession and a secundary.
Primary proffessions: Legionnair , Priest (depending on the God you chose to follow you gain different attributes, being a priest of Mars would give you special powers handy in Military stuff while Ceres in agricultural, etc... ), Politician (want to rule instead of being a "servant" why not try a political carreer and get the PLAYERS to vote you as next Consul) but be aware the political system may change : a successful general could take over the government and declare himself Cesar and take away your power, it would be up to the unhappy citizens to rally players to their cause!) , Blacksmith , Farmer , Miner, Manufacturer , etc... (the etc... means more could be added but if the amount of Crafting proffessions becomes a clusterfuck a low/med population could result in the economy being messed up).
Seconduray proffessions: Militia ; You're anything but a Legionnair but want to fight , no problem join the militia and fight along but be aware the Roman Empire will not reward you money for your fighting nor will you be able to get promotions in the Legion , but a small promotion system in the Milita itself could be implemented to keep things interested. (ps: yes a Legionnair can become a Centurion or maybe someday a general if the Higher ranked players think you're worth it and you want it .). Medic (obvious one) . Small manufacturer (gives the players a possibility to craft "simple" items but nothing near what primary crafters can make ).
The empire and how it would start and evolve : First it would start with the roman Empire but if the playerbase allows it (amount of players) multiple empires could be unlocked ; German Barbarians, Celts , Egypt , etc... This would create Macro wars and diplomacy between real players. But off course the Game has to start somewhere and at the start everything would be managed by either GM's or CPU's but gradually as players prove themselves in certain area's they can replace those cpu's (by completing certain quests and tests) . While some cpu's will have to remain for obvious reasons the objective is to , once the game reaches a decent development for the players to rule the game and solve their problems. Don't you like the current senate but you can't get rid of them "legally" ? Why not coerce other players to join you and kick them away . But be aware of the Praetorian Guard which (again) will at first consist of CPU's but the players in charge could replace them with the most competent Centurions. So it wouldn't be a piece of cake to kick them off . And don't forget the players in charge could punish you for trying to plot against them . (if there are multiple playable empires: Banishment out of the current (eg: out of rome => take refuge in Egypt?) until the government changes or they decide to forgive you. If there aren't multiple empires unlocked yet they can charge extra taxes on your income (until a certain amount , we don't want an abuse of power) , if you were a legionair temporarily kick you away , etc... ) So it will be a risky business and you have to know what you're doing.
Events and more Events ! NPC barbarians threatening Rome for no apparent reason at a random moment , NPC revolts (government decisions would affect the odds => High taxes = higher chance for such events), etc...
And the empire can grow. Rome would start as , well , Rome but will the players be able to defeat the barbarians and expand the empire throughout Europe?
I could add an other paragraph about the crafting but meh , its already long as it is and i'm tired. But it would be quite complex and require the player knowing what he's doing .

Divide et Impera
A strategy where small power groups are prevented from linking up and becoming more powerful.
In politics and sociology, divide and rule (derived from Latin divide et impera) (also known as divide and conqure) is a combination of political, military and economic strategy of gaining and maintaining power by breaking up larger concentrations of power into chunks that individually have less power than the one implementing the strategy. In reality, it often refers to a strategy where small power groups are prevented from linking up and becoming more powerful, since it is difficult to break up existing power structures.
Well its a PVP PvE game where you gain points for various ranking ladders, by performing various actions.
For example, the ranking system in Battlefield 2 Bad Company.
The game supports various ranking ladders called supremacy scenarios which fall into political, military, economic and cultural ladders. The ladders have sub ladders which are broken down to empire, guild, and player.
To make it short, as a player, you compete against other guilds to become the ruling party of your empire. Where the reward is the ability to change game mechanics. If your empire grows strong to lead the fight against other empires you gain even more control and have more tools at your disposal to change more game mechanics.
I have been creating this game on paper for about a year, just as a hobby.

Criticism is welcome but Don't bash. This is an exercise in creativity. Some ideas will be less acceptable than others but bashing them will only discourage people from sharing.
Biosphere
you are a on a barren planet and your objective is to you to create a biosphere to restore an enviroment that will sustain animal and human life.
you and other players wake up in a crashed space ship's cryo-hibernation pods. The ships computer is still functional and gives you information on how long your air food and supplies will last your objective is to survive. you dawn on your massive space suit and exit the air lock to assess the damage to the outside of the ship you see that only one compartment is in tact and there is no way to leave this planet. you open up your personal computer and start scavenging for items.
The planet has an atmosphere of 90% co2, extream temperatures of hot and cold. dangerous wind storms sweep the landscape. you and the other players must build a small outpost using the nuclear powered mech suits after the outpost is built you can begin planting in the green house
After thigs get established some players decide they dont want to work they rather take whats yours so you will fight over mineral resources, supplies, overpopulation, keeping the law killing.
logansmom. i really want to play your game. cool idea.
