Quitting FFXI-What next?

imageWell I'm quitting FFXI.  I reach L60 in my RDM and leveled all other jobs from 10 to 35.  Now Im getting bored.  I know there a lot more to do, but im bored.  Sometimes, and im a RDM the pt waiting is about  1 hr.  I go outsite Jueno to do some killing and farming, but again; I get bored.  Im Rank 6 and ZM # 3.  I dont know what happends with the game that now no ones helps.  The good linkshells are down and the ppl you know gone, maybe to WOW or Guildwars but are gone.  As a good (not excellent) MMORPG player, after playing FFXI, What next?  What game on the market can adjust or at least be as good as FFXI.  Graphic, History, Jobs, Lag, Customer Service... All that make FFXI a damn good excellent game.  I played WoW, but dont like it.  Maybe because the lag issues and the bored quest.  Now I played Guildwars betas, at the beginning was cool, and the game is nice, but the cinemtics and history need some adjustments.  I enter the academy on GW and now i cant go back to play the colorful maps.  Checking MxO, looks a little bit boring, Is it?

Please help, lmao

I played MxO for a little while and thought it got boring after a while, but I guess it's what kind of gameplay you like.  MxO is almost all quests and fast paced gameplay, which is pretty different from your typical slow paced MMORPGs.  If you didn't like WoW then I'd wait for some other games to come out in the near future.

I just quit FFXI and I'm waiting for Dark and Light to release.  Check it out.

I also played FFXI as an RDM. I feel your pain. I loved the game, but I quit because it was so painful waiting for parties. I found myself partying with the same people all the time, which is cool, but doing so kind of squashed the point of being in a MMORPG.

I agree with one of the previous posters about trying some of the free trials. Keep in mind that some free trials (like EQ2) are really demos, so you don't really see that much of the game.

After FFXI, I found myself wandering. I tried Wow and EQ2 and a few free trials, but I could never find my niche. Finally, I discovered Lineage 2. While I don't think Lineage 2 would please everyon (what does?), I think it is a fantastic game.

I wouldnt recommend Lineage 2 to my worst enemies. While it has its good points....there are too many games to choose from which have alot more to do and are alot more fun.

May I suggest RYL: Path of the Emperor?

We've had many users from FFXI who are now converted fans there.

It's in p2p now, but you can get 14-30 day trial from sites like www.gamedaily.com, morpheus, etc.

Or check out www.ryl.net for more info. image
