Long time fan of this game but after waiting a year for the baby 1.31 to be birthed I must admit that I am completely baffled by the long time this patch took over a year and not really that much more to do in the game. All there is a bunch of new colors on tanks, new speedtree trees where the old ones were, cloud cover that all but erases a decent limited air game into a deck fight and gives players a headache with bright clouds that blink and streaks of black that tear through the screen.
When will the Rats learn that it is variety in games that sells them. The more things to do and experience make for the games that people play. Graphics in games like Warcraft (which i hate) are 100 times more crappy , small scoped and empty. Yet, somehow all the stuff to do seems ot keep people interested. The same is true for PVP shootem ups.
The Rats just spent a year of development on what amounts to rain and a few new buildings. In it they introduced more crash to desktop bugs and connections to their statistic server errors. Nothing new for any player to do. No new naval units. No new infantry units and no new places to fight.
As one poster put it in their forums. People do not pay play with their settiings for Specular on/off, Blood on/off, Water shadows on/off, ragdoll physics on/off and many other fancy settings that most players turn off just to get the Frames Per Second up to a playable 30. It just not make sense that after 10 years this total war Europe game does not have one major capital city for any major country that is in the conflict. There is nothing beyond the first 2 weeks of the war in the game and the conflict is confined to less than half of the French Gamelin campaign of May 1940.
It has just lost the wargammer's interest in favor of the small room PVP. Yes, the other PVPs have expanded to now be the same size or larger in scope and victory conditions than this pioneer game that claimed to include Europe from Norway to Northern Italy and has little more the Louxembourg developed for gameplay.

Isn't it like this from beginning? They already went trough 1 bankruptcy. CRS has just few (3-5) working on the game and that with other factors adds to glacial pace of development. My first experience with WWOL was around ver. 1.17 And when i compare it with current situation it's very similar - game is obsolete and they try to keep it at leat a bit relevant with small, cosmetic changes.
CRS does not care about you... they just want your money
How is this hand holding casual fragfest different from a shoebox ?
AO's force you to spawn in a 50x50 meter static spawn zone that's flashing red on the map... you cant spawn anywhere else.
So you spawn and get bombed instantly. Strategy ? Skill ? Tactic ?
Who's to blame ?
CRS or the noobs emailing them saying they cant find a fight ? with such a shitty mechanic system i know who to blame.
I have killed more Matilda MK2's in a day then they produced in the entire war.
There is no fear of death, equipement is unlimited and has always been exploited by players (manual ressuply)
Why is such an ugly game performing so bad ? This game stutters, lags, warps, crashes, always been this way.
At some point you have to realise that this game became a casual fragfest with tons of handholding features, realism is out the window since the game is called Battleground Europe.
Yeah they never expanded really... how many times did i read about berlin, paris and london... by the devs and still today the game is a stalemate.
How is it fun to play such complete bullshit ? The community is really awfull they are like communists really.
I loved this new patch. I wasn't a big fan of playing on the ground, but after this patch I started to play more and more on the ground than I did in the air. This is mostly because of the new features (such as deploying, sprinting, capping and most of all, the sense of cover) that have been implemented.
And just because this might not have been as amazing as a patch from Blizzard, you have to consider that the developers for this game is very small. That said, I'm still very impressed with this new patch. But it's not surprising you're not.
But I think that even if they added new toys (especially in the sea), it wouldn't make a difference in the player base. I bet some will come back, but no more than what came back for the new patch. The game mechanics in this game is just not good enough for people to come back. In all honestly, at this point I'd rather play Battlefield 2 than this game.
they took their time which they should to fix bugs and upgrade the engine
i dont' care about the graphic, but I like they fixed bugs
they should fix more bugs before putting new thing in
