absolutely halarious. if SIGIL put half their energy and time into fixing those damn bugs instead of adding new content, and NPC's that 90% of most people have yet to level up to take on, then this game would actually be worth purchasing. Despite being in the beta, and closely following this game in hopes itll improve. it seems thats a empty pipedream.
sad state of affiars when you have a MMO such as VSOh that is in such disrepair with bugs, glitches, art/graphics problems and lag and performance issues, you would think they'd focus their time on fixing the abhorerent problems that plague this games, but no, this is what happens when u combine SOE and Sigil together. you get VSOh, a game with potential plagued with gamebreaking bugs, problems and issues galore. they do not deserve no ones money til they correct these issues. I feel sorry for the people that paid for this game. but i figure if people want to play and pay for a buggy game, hey they are grown people and dont need my permission to play. but this game needs so much work its not even funny.
ill still keep an open mind to it in hopes this game turns around. but they are batting for ZERO so far and slowly but surely losing more and more subscribers as people get fed up.

Same story, different game... well different wrapper at least.
It seems MMORPG.com's news updates via email are messed up with EQ II news and this being given.

Right on! Like I don't get enough spam without also getting outdated mailings.
I suspect that this was content that was left over after they announced they would not be working on any more content for Vanguard. I really am sorry this game didn't turn out better. I played it for a while, and it has many worth while features... the reindeer mount that flies around christmastime was one of my favorite things to have gotten... but overall, it is slow, full of nit-picky little quests and tradeskill things that take up an huge amount of time for very little reward in the short run. Sure, in the long run, you get a lot, but do you have the patience to reach the long run? I didn't.
I did and it was very worthwhile. People want everything within a few days of playing the game and then complain it's too easy. If you want a hardcore real RPG experience then this is still the game. If you want everything handed to you on a platter like generation Y seem to like then it's not the game for you.
Have to agree here. Funny how people always say they hate games like WoW because it is too easy then a game like VG comes around and it's too slow, too hard, too tedious...
I also agree. It's true that there are some bugs and some graphic glithes in the game (especially around NT), but the game is by far better than WoW. Atleast it's not a babysitting service for the parents that are too lazy to watch their kiddies (and the parents that are more like kiddies than the kiddies). And btw for all you that think Sigil is working on the game, Sigil does not exist anymore. It is all SOE and has been since May 15, 2007. SOE hired some of the staff from Sigil, but most were let go (in the parking lot from what I understand). According to wikipedia, they hired about 50 of them (I just looked it up)
They sold us a half-baked Fail-sauced pizza.

The whole reason I have given up on Vanguard is the fact that the development has been halted as far as expansions and they are merging servers. The moral is down with people as well and they are losing confidence in spending their time in the game if it is going to be all for nothing. It is sad to me, because it is the only hope for SOE to make something of themselves, but they are going to pick EQ2, the most boring game in the world and leave out the only game that would have given them a boost. Vanguard has better combat mechanics than EQ2 will ever have! SOE is going down and they are taking what could have been good games down with them for you as a personal favor. They will not bring anything to the table in the future so they are non-existent in my mind. I think it is time to get a real life . The graphics outside will never compare to any game!
GAME OVER!!!
Hmm I just got this e-mail "update" about Vanguard, turns out its about an update that happened in March 2007. I have been long gone from ANY SOE games, due to being disappointed, pretty much continuously over the years.
And yet at one point and time, I was an avid fan. I STILL have my beta disc from the original Everquest before it launched in 1999.
I have played alot of their games, EQII, SWG..etc. Have left and come back so many times....I was in closed beta for Vanguard, beta testers (at least I did ...) submitted reports on all those bugs that were still present at release. What a messed up affair.
I had such high hopes for Vanguard, beautiful scenery...and a hark back to the play value we got from the original Everquest ..up to and including the expansion Luclin. After that everything seemed to go to pot.
Vanguard and SWG were my biggest disappointments. Vanguard "could have been" an epic game...yes I was a definite fangurl and defended VG every chance I got.
I am not sure why I got this e-mail, but all it did was dredge up sad memories of what could have been.

Strange I got the email notification as well. I still think VG is a great game, SOE sux hardcore, Silius's name will forever be tarnished. Way to kill a game by simply ignoring the players. They should have let it die years ago as opposed to stringing people along with LIES. All in all I'm probably going to play till it is dead. I will just never buy into anything Sony branded ever again. Why did they fix bugs if they just don't care about the game. They amaze me with their stupidity and I wonder how they stay afloat through the economy the way it is with their horrible customer relations.
