World:  Pretty awesome, nice chaos

Leveling:  Decent options, but gets pretty repetitive

Raiding:  non-existent

Teaming:  decent for the style, but poor compared to most mmo's

pvp: suprisingly lame, all of the missions are the same, and the bounty system promotes cheesey gameplay

in all:  Driving and crime are an awesome combo, and it is fun in small bursts or with an organized small team, but the core gameplay in pvp or just leveling are very poorly implemented, and that makes the game no better than any GTA game since you will either play alone or wish you were within about 1 hour.

I rly dont get it, when a company does something diffrent it´s never good enough, when they do a WoW clone thats not good either. I dont rly know what people are waiting for in the Mmo genre.

This game is diffrent and I think its fun and brings a fresh wind into the Mmo market. We need games likes this to move away from the cutout other games have become.

I give every MMo that does something new with the market a big round of applause and want more games that brings what a consol game has and makes it to a Mmo.

If this game gives me 50 hours of gameplay im really happy as they made it so i can buy it in hours also a new and great way to make payment diffrent .

I think they are moving Mmos in the right driection and maybe the next one that comes out will have even more good stuff in it.

You included raiding as one of the catagories for reviewing this game... your review is invalid...

My thing with APB is that it's too generic. It lacks options. While an mmorpg does not need to be defined as a fantasy game, or a game with classes, per se, but I feel an mmorpg should have roles. When APB was first announced and being marketed as an mmorpg, or at least towards that audience, I thought it would be as such.

I was figuring you'd have hookers and pimps, safe crackers, vigilantes, crooked cops, detectives, drug dealers, etc. In particular, I was hoping to be a hitman like Danny Trejo in Desperado: a silent, badass mofo with blades.

But, alas, that was not what APB turned out to be. APB is a massive multiplayer online third person shoter, and honestly, it's not even that massive. It is not an mmorpg, and never should have been targeted to the mmorpg audience. Ultimately, it's a shooter with rpg elements that you have to sub to play...

That, to me, is disappointing. Sure, it's a fun game, but there are many shooters out there that don't require a sub to play...even ones with rpg elements...

However, APB is a good game, very solid. Awesome customization. Amazing visuals if your rig can handle it.

Whats your problem with GTA games?

I have forever dreamed of an online GTA game, finally its here!

So far the only people I've encounterd who dont like it are people who are no good at it,  granted I'm not brilliant either but I cant remember the last time I've been this addicted to a game.

This. When you can't adjust a "review" to match the type of game you're reviewing, you fail good sir. It'd be like comparing the driving (only one part of the game) of Grand Theft Auto to that of Project Gotham. Two completely different games and genres, yet both have cars.

First of all, this is not a Fantasy and not every single MMO has to have Raiding.

Second, Realtime Worlds never said anything about making Raiding in this game because there is absolutely no point to have raiding in this game because it would not make any sense.

The third is a question... what is an MMOG then?

Sorry, i don't quite understand. Are you complaining that the game is too generic because it doesn't have generic features?

You cant compare this game to any MMO out there right now, its something different. I personally enjoy playing it, I do agree ith missions being a little too repetitive, but I'm sure they will have more features added to the game in the future. One thing I did enjoy is being able to hear other players as they pass by you, like I was getting arrested and I tried begging the enforcer to let me go, and he laugh at me and stated " youve been a bad bad boy, your going to jail" lol

I think a jail break raid or bank robbery, or drug raid would be good raiding options...  It doesn't have to be an onyxia situation with a giant dragon in the end.

I was referring to team based pve content for end-game players on a large coordinated effort.

Could it be that the "wow-clone haters" have been blinded by wow's definition of raiding?

p.s.  I actually like the GTA games, but this has been hyped up to be more... and with a subscription, it kinda has to be to make it in it's genre.

The point of the game is not about missions. Missions are a means to an end. The end -  a shoot out against another group of players. Sometimes this doesn't happen but I would say that at least 95% of the time there is a gun fight to end the mission. That is what the game is about and in that respect, it succeeded.

    Lol.... raiding.

You have to have PvE to have a raid, and even then, I didn't consider what Niko did at the end of GTA4 a "raid" (though it was in a sense).

As I'm bored again with my current MMOs I downloaded it on Sunday evening and played all day yesterday (12+ hours). What I found was.

    1. It's addictive -  those 12 hours flew by and I fogot to eat.

    2. It can change fron fun to frustration and back again quickly.

    3. If you don't play shooters, you will die alot.

    4. Until you get decent weapons, you will die alot.

    My tips.

    1. If you don't like arrogant asshats, or people who are just rude - turn of the VoIP in the options.

    2. Try both out but I recommned criminals if you are a noob. The cars are damn hard to control and running down pedestrians is a plus with that faction.

    3. If you did the digital download and have no manual, you can look at the keybinds in the options. My classic "OK, I have grenades... how do I throw them again?"

    Yet to discover...

How do I sell the stuff I've mugged off people or the boxes from stores I've ram raided?

Overall it's fun, not a main MMO but if you're bored and want something different from elves and dwarves this is probably it.
