I don't know why everyone tore out SOE's heart for implementing the /pizza command. It's not like they have a huge banner that says 'Buy pizza hut pizza!' or forces you in any way. There's absolutely no in-game advertisement whatsoever, there's no medieval style pizza hut or anything to imply that they're advertising for pizza in-game. Just shows what a community can do if it's full of ignorant people who don't do research.
The problem with /pizza is they did a half-arsed job implimenting it. You type it and the game goes to windowed mode and a web browser brings up pizza hut's website. Whoopie do, I could done that lol
What would have been better is there be a little npc you can order your pizza through, or /pizza brings up an in-game window and you click what you want and voila, in 45 minutes your doorbell rings.

I thought when I first read about it, that it would bring up an ingame window. I can tell ya they probably did not do that for a few reasons.
1 being that it could cause security issues, and it would also require them to maintain code for that function and keep it updated just to order pizza.
2 being that would upset alot of people like myself that would be abit peived about development time spent on something like that.

You guys are actually discussing the merits of /pizza in a MMOG.
Whatever happened to focusing on making a good game?
This is EQ2's version of smoke and mirrors.

EQ2 isn't spending all their time trying to correct various "bugged" codes in the game so they can afford to write a code to bring a pizzahut site. It's a pretty tight game...I haven't seen any real showstopper bugs. So they added some fun features to their game. I say kudos to any development team (no matter the game) to implement small but ingenious ideas into a mmorpg.
