My wife and I have been looking for something the two of us can play together, but she is rather uninterested in the standard list of games available. I've played SWG, EVE, AC/AC2, and a few others but she is completely uninterested in any of them. She'd like to play with me, but she needs to find something that will appeal to her. Any suggestions? Some standalone's she currently likes are: Snood, Monkey Island(any of them), Loom, Lode Runner. If anyone can help me, please, PLEASE let me know.

can you sorta list her ingame likings and dislikings then i could possibly help.
Well, I think she hates the repetitive nature of most of these games. She also hates the level of detail not necessarily in graphics but in the gameplay. For example: EVE(way to freakin complicated for her), AC(crafting/items way to much detail) It ends up being an information overload, not that she can't handle it, it's just that she doesn't want to have to deal with it.
As far as likes, I really don't know. She's hated virtually everything I've tried with her. We've even done Sims Online and There and she wasn't a big fan.

to the first post-person... i have the same problem with my GF... strangely enough, i got her hooked on ROSE online... she says its so cuts. she loves going around killing woopies and racoons
yes i would also suggest ryzom..not too complicated but its a great game once you get into it.
ah well. i advice to try the new ones. WoW and EQ2. Nothing ground breaking in any of them, but they are not ultra complex (well, the craftign system of EQ2 is quite complex, so maybe WoW is more indicate if she wants to craft), they do have some deep with quite variety of skills, spells and what not and they tend to give a goal to the player in the forms of humunguos quantity of quests.
I played both and personally favor WoW, it has more style and is more fun, in my opinion of course.
Cannot say anything about Ryzom, so i won't
"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime"
I would definitely say WoW or Guild Wars. Very simple to pick up and play. Ryzom might be a bit too in-depth for her tastes. I'm rather partial to EQ2, but I like the complex crafting system...though it IS optional.
Er...
Actually, Ryzom IS an awesome game, but it's --definitely-- complicated, especially for a player who would prefer not having to think too much.

My gf pre-ordered Guild wars and has been playing the beta weekends and she loves it, im also going to play it with her once it comes out, gotta admit i am jelouse that she gets to play it now even if only for a weekend each month, i just make sure im at hers for that weekend lol . I highly recommend Guild Wars fairly straight forward and its definatly for casual gamers although it is appealing to hardcore gamers also. Im just trying to stay on my gfs side so i can be in the same guild, just imagine the shame if i lost a PvP match to her....id never hear the end of it lol .

well, it is the weekend and I'd like to have something to show her and maybe get hooked on so come the next few weeks we can enjoy the broadband together.
Cause he's tired of hearing her bitch. That's like a 911 in my limited Yellow Pages.
Cartman has a big fat ass!
Wow...those games are old school. Good, but old school (Monkey Island series...cannot be described in enough positive words)
If it's her first MMO, I'd recommend something like World of Warcraft I think. I don't play it myself, the reason being I believe it to be too easy, but it would be an enjoyable first experience...WoW is pretty much instant gratitude and fun, and a nice crafting system IMO. Suitable opener MMO I think.
EDIT: As far as MMO's I'm looking foward to, Guild Wars (of which I've played a bit) looks very promising and easy on the wallet, and Dark and Light (although it will be a while yet I'm sure) seems like it has some really good ideas that could pan out.
Try out Ashen Empires (site is www.ashenempires.com)
It is quite simple with it's aspects but there is a broad range of them, so keeps you interested for a long time. Free download, free 7-day trial. Give it a try at least

Which FF Character Are You?
I'd definately go for WoW, I'm not really into it (I play EQ2 right now), BUT WoW is a very good game for husband wife pairs, you two could duo to the level cap as and two classes ok. WoW's learning curve is also great.

I got quite upset at near the end of Loom, it's quite sad A Monkey island based MMORPG would be great, obviously cos pirates rock.
EQ2 like WoW is easy to pick up and play and with the new mentoring system you wouldn't have to always be at the same levels to play together and gain exp, so you could solo also.
There are quite a few couples who play together in my guild in UO, the learning curve and start of the game may be a bit off putting but it's well worth perservering.
