Territory control?

Is territory control still crappy? Red status still attached to territory control system? Is the war system still accept only?

*Blissfully unaware that this is probably a troll post*

There is no territory control system except the one you enforce with weapons and guildies.  Build a keep or a series of houses and make sure no one but you has access to your resources (rocks, trees, mobs, etc).  There's your territory control.

Red status has nothing to do with any of this, and to the best of my knowledge there is no war system... not that it really matters, if you own your own territory you don't need to enter blue towns anyway.

Its not a troll post. Those are the reasons why I haven't bought the game yet

Anyways, you are unaware of what red status does and how easily it can mess up PvP and territory balance. I don't really want to get into it for the 213907515 time as I debated it to death on the MO boards before they closed them to the public.

Also, there is a territory control system since you can build houses/keeps (keeps were added?) pretty much anywhere and they can be destroyed by other people. Having territory is benifical because you are supposed to be able to set certain rules in your territory dictating resources (wasn't in beta suppose to be in game though) and who is free to enter your city (local flag allow control).

So can anyone answer these question or not?

I'm pretty sure that there are only 6-7 pre-determined keep spots available in game currently.  Might be wrong.   Yes they can technically be destroyed by other people, but there are no siege weapons in game yet so unless you have an army of guys with a stockful of disposable weapons and a few days to kill.. might be hard to do :-)

I knew that. Basically is red status attached to the territory/war system and is the war system still "mutual" war only?

I don't believe war status is even in game currently...

Then by default red status is attached to territory control system. Good to know, political meta game is still broken.

That's really the one thing I miss from Darkfall.  I loved that political game.  Even when you threw a tantrum in alliance chat and Forumfall when we were kicking your clan out image

    Good memories.

My dream is really that Darkfall 2010 turns out to be a brand new, fresh, clean server with boxes in stores and a big advertising push.  Who can forget Hyperzerg or Gluttony's CotC...  The interplay of the politics was amazing.

The only time my guild was "kicked out" of anything was when Ghost Alliance was removed from Ruby very very cheaply. It was pure BS. If you aren't talking about that, I have no idea what you are talking about.

Yup.. that was Ghost Alliance.   I forgot the name.   Yeah.. it was a silly/crazy time.  Like I said. it was stuff like that that made the game interesting.

Even when you were actively posting in the forums, Mats noted that they did not plan on having siege equipment in at launch.

Building is in and working as well as bridge construction.

I'm not currently guilded, so I can't tell you anything about the guild war system.

If meaningful territory control is the deal breaker for you, I'd say check back in 3-6 months.
