Choosing servers

in Final Fantasy XIV

If i remember correct from my breif period with FF XI , i could not choose a server, i was just assigned to a random server. No big deal back then as i didn't know anyone playing the game...

But in current days, i think it would hurt big time if certain guilds could not get ontoo the same server.

I hope this got fixed and certainly i hope it will be fixed for FF XIV..

 

(Or maybe i made a mistake and got assigned to a Random server because i forgot to choose)

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

    u can pick your sever in FFXI now i dont see why u cant in FFXIV

    I think that you will be able to choose your server, although at the start you may find that the servers will have a cap on them to try and spread the subscribers around, that could prove problematic for guilds.

    I think it would be cool to have mmorpg.com's XIV community mostly on one server. Most of you don't make me /facepalm too much so far.

    I wouldn't mind playing with you ;)

     

    But personally i am hoping that there will be some kind of roleplay server.

    Agreed, I've been saying that also. Not because I typically RP, just because the player base is usually much better. If the community as a whole is similar to what XI had though, shouldn't be an issue. Everyone I met there was always happyfaced.

    I think this is a critical factor for SE at launch...how many servers. I am guessing that they will decide based on the extent of pre order sales at retail. I am going into head-start consequently to be avoid being squished in the crowd on official launch.

    Yeah, I agree. I'm trying to get a Linkshell off the ground atm and would like to fill its ranks with mmorpg.com people... at least the command lvl.
