Seems to be a copy cat move because other MMO's have this. Funny I don't find RoM to be social at all. I just don't think this will be used much at all.
Hell, half the hot warrior chicks you see ingame are guys anyway. So an MMO marriage would most times involve two guys anyway. I really think the whole idea of marriage in an MMO is rediculous anyway but that hot litle magic user your proposing to might have have a surprise for you if you ever decide to meet in RL. Just sayin'.
WOW isnt great because it has 12 million players. WOW has 12 million players because its great.

I witnessed a lesbian wedding in SWG a long time ago, and I mean two female players and characters involved. We thought it was funny at the time, but i guess as long as it's not two men - right?

People are deleting the game cause they allow gay marriage? Seriously? I hope people like that avoid Canada and other countries wshere gay marriage is legal. It would suck if someone just went and deleted those countries.

Can't really find a negative in deleting canada
Well it was a bad idea to annex them in the fallout mythos, and that's good enough for me.
I like Canada, because they are like the little brother to the US that has it's act together, while the older brother (Mexico) just can't seem to stay off of probation. The whole country might as well be wearing an ankle bracelet at this point.

I like how people are harping on the system when they haven't even seen it yet. The system goes beyond just Marriage. There's a whole relationship system where you can mark friends, family, ect. Grouping with people you have formed a relationship with while out fighting will strengthen the bond and gain you both additional benefits. The more you group the stronger the bonds get (10 different levels).
"Besides love and married couples, Patch 3.0.3 will implement several other types of relationships, including Family or Friendship. Two players can declare themselves family members or best friends simply by exchanging a special object that can be bought in the city of Varanas. A character can link up to 20 other avatars through these relationships with just one marriage.
Relationships grant players bonuses when they are together in a group. These bonuses can raise one of their statistics or offer the chance to get a rare object when defeating monsters, for example. Also, characters bound together will be granted a special bonus when their counterpart’s health drops under a certain level. Damage inflicted by family members will be increased when they fight together, and part of the health of two friends fighting together will be restored.
These bonuses get more and more efficient as the link between the two characters becomes deeper; defeating foes together grant them relationship points and help them to get through the 10 different levels of this system. If the time comes when you would like to go your separate ways, all links between characters can be ended simply by removing them in the Friends interface in the game."
Sounds like a solid system if you ask me. And anyone that complains about a free game adding content to the game,., Well I don't know what to tell you.. The game is free and you can choose to play it or not. Over the course of the last two years RoM has added more ingame content then most other retail release p2p games have and you never had to pay a monthly fee and/or buy an expansion to gain access to that content.
Could the game use more content? Sure, but what game can't use more content.. Thats why they are called MMORPGs. A ever evolving game that content is always being made for (in most cases).
Hahaha, God may hear ur voice mate cuz you spoke the bare truth...to bad that Adam became a atheist since he met Steve...the snake! All fear the cunning snake, amin!

If reading that into my post makes you feel more accepting, then yeah, as long as its not two men.

Its amazing that people still follow earthly rules set by priests who like little boys. All the earthly rules within the church are set by men who have no clue about real life. Thats also why they change it on a whim. Just look up history.
I'm glad they are having gay marriage as an option if they put in marriage. In other games I've played that have marriage, but only straight marriage, it becomes a huge issue with players who want to add it and are very upset if it isn't/cant be. If you're adding relationships, putting in all the options at once seems to be a most efficient way of doing it. If you aren't going to use it (I won't), that's fine. But it's there for people who do want it. Lots of options are a positive thing.
"gay or lesbian"......as if there is a difference, lesbians ARE gay
This is a really, really bad idea on so many levels.
I just deleted the game from my computer because of this nonsense.
God made Adam and Eve...not Adam and Steve.
Unless Steve is an Alien, I'm pretty sure God made him as well.
-Just a thought.
Not to get in the God talk, but I always found the flaw in all that... How did Adam and Eves children reproduce? They never said anything about hot neighbors..
Anyways, this game was crappy anyways. The Mods for RoM are a bunch of children and now they're going to have to deal with PMs about someones wife cheating on them ingame.

Like how the Dead Sea Scrolls showed that not a single word of the Old Testament had changed in two thousand years?
But that's beside the point. Who cares if people want to get gay married in a freaking video game? Of all the things to delete a game over that one is at the very bottom of my very long list.
Heck, if I made an MMO that included a mareriage system, I'd allow gay marriage. Maybe including stuff like that would help make it more acceptable to the backwards people who'll delete a game over it.
I remember being so amped for that relationship crap in SWG which turned out to be one of the blackest marks in my entire mmo history two marriages that drained me more than anything SOE could have ever done. I can say with fair certainty while I am not against systems like these it's something I'll never indulge in again myself.
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

It's not really the quantity of content, so much as the fact that a good portion of the stuff they have added recently is so buggy as to barely be useful (EG: Maids - another system that would be cool if it worked.)
Then there is the whole amount of stupidity that goes with the in game marriage thing (just read this thread). All it does is turn into a pointless argument, and in game drama stupidity. I suppose that can't be helped.
So yeah, you are right it could be cool, but I as well as most people who play would rather that they fixed some of the bugs before releasing new content, be it marriage or whatever.
Kinda sad how closed minded people are. YOUR RELIGION DOES NOT EXIST IN RUNES OF MAGIC. So you have zero reason to care if there is gay marriage. I wish WoW would implement gay marriage, might weed out a lot of the idiots.
I am self-admittedly a geek who follows an MMO forum, but I would NEVER sink as low as to get married to another player in-game. Maybe its cute for the ONE real life couple that probably plays together, but I guarantee many dudes will marry for the stat bonus and it will be pretty pathetic.
Most married men I've ever been in guilds with play to get away from their marriages, not to have a game-wife and a real-wife. Please, save getting a wife for real life.

whoa whoa whoa wait up a sec, gay marrage? i musta missed that part....i'll be deleting this game too. as if the glitches weren't bad enough.
but wouldn't the 2 gay guys get a disease effect the night after they get married?
LOL, I'm not gay, but I couldn't care less about something like that.
If it offends you, you're likely a protestant or just very afraid that you might like the cack.
