Guildleves and Immersion..

I really like to feel part of the world and stories i play.  I am actually the person that reads all the quests. (The one you are allways wayting for when accepting new quests)

With most quests being guildleves that you aquire by visitting Aetherites, i was wondering if there was a story part behind these guildleves at all, or that they are just simple tasks with no other function then leveling your guild.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

All leves have some sort of backstory like in other MMO's. There's also a bit more to it:

"Even the smallest of Guildleves are part of a big competition between guilds to get the most jobs done. While this is not the major story line for FFXIV, it allows players to feel their work on Guildleves is moving along at least some story."

It has been revealed, that for example the NPC's in said guilds would react to you differently depending on your reputation to the guild in question. The special "faction leves" also supposedly feature some sort of story (unconfirmed).

Other than that, there's the main story arcs which I'm sure will satisfy your hunger for story content, although it's not the main activity in the game.

Using LOL is like saying "my argument sucks but I still want to disagree".
