I own the game, I cancelled my subscription during Open beta, I didn't intend to play this game for a goooooood while. So I wonder why they charge me while I don't even had an subscription up.

well I'm not really surprised. There were many payments pending during the pre-orders. I even believed they switched from payment-handler, but not sure about that.
At least they've sent an email that you have paid. I really hope I don't get 2 emails..... yeah I bought 2 accounts and cancelled both subs aswell.
My biggest gripe is that SV automatically started subs at launch, I didnt want to play from Launch, Yet I had to, I have also been billed but i got 25% VAT adn my bill is 14.20ish
Went straight to the site and cancelled my subscription, not prepared to pay for a game i just dont have time to play anymore

I would sugest posting the issue on their official forums and if you did not intend to sub you could do a charge back on them due to their shitty move of setting sub to auto renew at launch.
TBH i think the problem that is arising here is that they changed the billing section slightly so i am assuming with them doing that it did not set you sub to not reknew, OR you did not set it to not renkew in the account section of the main forums...yes i know you should have been the one that actually set it to either reknew or not renkew but i think when you pre ordered the game it is set on reknew automatically, sucks i know but are they accountable for this or the person who holds the account??
If you bought the game early. . like I did. . there was no renew options. There was no billing page at all. You bought the game. later they added the subscription part and set it to auto renew. . you would have had to know to go in and check and change it. Even though you never chose a sub or payment method. They just added everyone on auto renew with the CC info they had.
This was brought up on the MO forums months and months ago and by many people. It was always closed or locked with an "answer coming in a few days" or "answered" reason. There was never a resonse from them as to why they would do it this way. All the fanboys screamed at anyone who asked and said SV would never do that. . they will fix it before release - your an idtiot etc. Well guess what. . .

And THANK YOU. Well.. now SV has actually gone and DONE it... so I would liek to hear from everyone who was saying we were crying wolf. These guys have now gone and charged people who never agreed to a sub... against their own TOS.

Did you check your account at the mortal main page? Did you make sure that is was set to cancell/do not renew? Why not give more information, then just the email? How about post the infromation from the account page. To me it seems to be a set-up. Because nobody ever make up stuff on the internet.
I got this email too and my account has been inactive since it was first released!!
I send them a ticket that I want refund.
I wouldn't count on a response, start at your credit card company first, or PayPal or whatever.
You will likely have better luck going through them first.
There are going to be a *lot* of chargebacks incoming in the next few weeks as people realize what has happened. I would not be the least bit surprised if they lost their merchant accounts.
Huh, I haven't even set up a subscription for this game. So what would I gain by setting up people on this forum? All I did was pay the game digitally to own it for the future(I got it while it was on sale). And played few days Open Beta. I haven't even logged on for months, and they magically think I'm gonna play out of the blue, by charging me without my awarness. I set up a subscription when I want to play, kthx.

How did you cancel your subscription? You've posted the billing email, but no proof of your cancellation, such as a confirmation email.
Also, your latest comments completely contradict your first:
You may not have "set up a subscription",. but you definitely said you "cancelled my subscription", which means you were at least aware there was a subscription, whether you explicitly signed up for it or not.

How can I cancel something I never set up in the first place? I went to the Mortal Online site and logged in and cancel it right after i saw the email.
And now I never recieved a Cancellation email either.
This is something their billing system has done automatically, cause I have never ever set up a subscription with this game.
They have my info from when I bought it on sale.

Whether he was aware of it or not is kind of irrelevant -- SV started to bill people without their consent, and this was mentioned months and months ago that it would happen.
Now it appears that it *has*. And as was stated earlier, there will be a lot of chargebacks in the coming weeks, because I don't see SV responding to refund requests.
And its weird it happens to me a month after release. When I don't even intend to play this shit for 6 months or more.
I got 3 mails from SV, creation of my account.
Payed the game.
and now 4 months later I get subscription out of the blue. Its fishy. Atleast I think so.

Yeah, something definitely smells funny here. And they sent out an email when the game went live to all pre orders telling them their free month started.
You had a whole month after they notified you to cancel your sub and never be billed.

It definitely sucks if it's happening to those folks. I don't believe it is for the OP. His own words contradict. He said he cancelled in open beta, then backtracked and said he cancelled after having been billed. I don't believe him. Why should I, since his story keeps changing?

YES I cancel during open beta. And I had to cancel again today, because they magically activated my account without my awarness. I never recieved any emails concerning free month bullshit. They can keep that free month and shove it up their ass, but I want my money back. Cause Im not gonna play this at all now. Activating my account and charge me behind my back is crossing my line.

I would advice you to call a chargeback via your bank, to get money back. This is not legal to activate subs in the way they did.
A question thou, where do I complain to about such shitty acts of scamming as SV pulled on their customers with auto-sub?
