Eve player looking for some advice

Hi folks

For the last seven years I have been playing Eve on-line. But now I'm pretty burnt out with it and am looking for something new.

So far I have tried WOW, LOTR, PotBS and FE. But none of them hold my attention for more then a few weeks. I just can't hold with the questing/level grinding games, I want something more freeform, a sandbox game if you want.

Now I know that AoC follows the common Level/quest routine, but what has piqued my interest is the guild city part of he game.

One of the things I was realy into with Eve was POS and Outpost management. In Eve that is a pretty major event, needing a lot of players working together to both keep fed with the appropraite fuels and to defend when attacked.

So I just want to ask if the guild city part of AoC offers a similer in depth level of game play?

Thanks in advance

Regular guild cities cannot be attacked, your guild needs to own a battlekeep, even then sieges don't happen very often as they've been broken since the game released.

     No

I really didn't want to post in these forums again, but for a fellow EVE player I will make an exception.

You might try Darkfall mate.  It's more sandbox "feel" and open like EVE, it has similar features, in terms of freeform guild castles and territory (not sov but held by force) and you have to manage (as guild leadership) all the castle resources, building, repair from attack etc.  Similar to POS bashing and reping.

The game is full loot hardcore pvp, you die you drop everything on the ground.  No levels and no classes per se, all skill and skill level based, like old Ultima Online, but without meaningful caps.  The game is due for a graphic overhaul and environmental effects overhaul etc soon

If you have not tried it at least give it a go, its worth a look, but it's pretty time consuming.  There is a grind element, but there is in EVE as well, it's just hidden.

I am also looking for something alternative to EVE, and I also am struggling.

Many Sieges do work on PvE servers for some reason, but some still crash for unknown reason.

     No

It could, if your guild is strong enough to contest the other Battlekeep owners on the server, and can take on down, and claim ownership over it. Then it will need to be defended regurely against the other guilds wanting the spot, as the BKs are limited for each server.

    Thanks in advance

Well, to answer with most honesty I can, I guess Darkfall is mostly your type of game. I dont even play Darkfall anymore, but most things you describe are not available in AoC and never will be. AoC is pretty much a solo game, unless you wish to devote your time to bug testing in live content by running tiered raids. Currently tier 4 is out, but tier 3 final boss "Thoth-Amon" hasn't even been killed yet. This is called throttling the content and is very much frowned upon by even PvE players.
