The real truth behind the Real ID has been exposed!
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/A/AS_CHINA_INTERNET
China to require real names on the Internet.
"A leading Chinese Internet regulator has vowed to reduce anonymity in China's portion of cyberspace, calling for requirements that people use their real names when buying a mobile phone or going online, according to a human rights group."
Blizzard just wanted to comply with the Chinese government to keep that market open to them... it is after all 400 million potential subscriptions. Dollars and sense.

Um how come you notice this now when its been known since a few days ago that Korea also has similar measures?
WOW, 3 days ago, lets crucify this guy for posting old old old news.
Wha? What! Thought I was on top of it this, being this article released late last night.
Guess I have been too busy clearing my inbox from the ESRB sharing out 1000 emails concerning my privacy. Now receiving endless "Ni hao you bi?" "I have offshore account fo u" (not really)
and... Korea does not = China.
I know Korea is not China but a similar system is required there too. Thats why last week people began to speculate that RealID is becouse of the need to adhere to the Korean rules.
So Blizzard lie again?

Is it that they are kissing the backside of China, or does the Chinese government run the gold farmers and Blizzard is in on it?
*Don't take this seriously*
"It's all run by a Shadowy cabal that plans on collapsing the world economy to bring about a one world government where the people will be enslaved and eventually killed off at the hands of the eilite that worships a stone owl in the woods. Buy my DVD! -AJ"
:P
Blizzard lied about the trolls argument, it was just to incorporate a social network, social networks linked to Facebook = millions of potential new players.
Had nothing to do with a law in China, those forums would have nothing to do with the Western ones.
Agreed. And that makes a lot more sense. Get the social networkers playing and you get more jingle in your pockets!
they could simply ask Chinese players to register in the forums with their real names or get banned, u know? for their US and EU playerbase such laws dont apply and I highly doubt they tot that a sweeping change was in order.
theory holds no water
